What William had probably failed to realize is that the twins were a set. You deal with one, you must deal with the other. His ignoring Rhiannon would just not do. He'd have to deal with her eventually. Throughout this entire ordeal, Rhiannon would be with her sister, whether he liked it or not. She had to be there for support, as it was clear to Rhia that Cassandra did not like this at all. Rhia felt much the same. As the man walked away, Rhia glared daggers at him. That was all she could do. It would be improper to retaliate with violence. She couldn't hold her frustration back after he was out of sight, however. Rhiannon sighed deeply with just a hint of a groan. Cassandra's indifferent state made Rhiannon frown. She placed a comforting hand on her twin's shoulder and squeezed gently. "We mustn't give up," she said softly. "No matter what, I am here for you. I will always be here for you." Rhiannon just wished she could make this all go away for her twin. This was not how things were supposed to be. ★ wasn't sure if we were done or not so~

{Rhia, William} {We are done~} i just want to start this over
Cassandra could not bring herself to even show half of the anger and resentment that was boiling within her. Her parents would be aghast if she ever threw such a tantrum in front of a stranger, especially the one that was to be her betrothed. The word tasted so very bitter in her mouth and mind as she thought over it. Did it not matter what she wanted? Did he even want this? All she felt was that familiar panic and anger tighten within her chest that had been present ever since she had been told about this engagement. It was nice to know her parents viewed her as a business arrangement. Well, she would be damned if Rhiannon had to suffer through this charade as well.
All she managed was a rather frosty smile at William’s parting words. He could shove his intentions and those papers where the light of day would never reach. Cassandra waited until she could no longer see him before her composure fell. Her hand flew to her mouth to muffle choked sob that wanted to escape her. Rhiannon’s hand on her shoulder broke whatever restraint she was trying to maintain. She turned and threw herself at her sister as the tears slid unbidden down her cheeks. The situation was unfair and she was stricken with the irrational idea of waking Seth and having them all run away. As if either of them would entertain it for more than a second.
“I know, Rhia. I will not allow him to wed and bed me without some sort of fight. I have until morning to think of something,” she murmured. It took her a few moments, but Cassandra regained her usual composure. Crying like this in the middle of the garden would not solve anything, and she had no wish for someone else to find them. “We should head back home. I am sure Seth will be worried.”
