Lycoris' life has been built on a crumbling foundation. It doesn't matter how pretty it looks on the outside and how many people might admire it, on the inside it is on a near-constant state of collapse. What people mostly see when they look at her is a young woman who knows her place and uses it to her advantage. The lack of warmth in her eyes makes her smile appear too easy, too quick, and there is a distinct emptiness in her laughter. She's a cold person who keeps everyone at a distance, preferring to handle things on her own. Everything is business with her. She doesn't appear to be bothered by many things, whether it be everyday annoyances or sharp words.

That said, she's an extremely expressive and emotional person. All it takes is looking for the reactions that she is so desperately trying to keep under wraps. While she might come off as confidant, she's incredibly insecure and has a terrible opinion of herself. Lycoris accepts that she's nothing more than a trophy for some and an idol of fear for others, and she makes no attempts to change this. Her self-esteem plummets at the slightest drop of a hat. Her mother's presence, demands, and instructions over the years has only made this worse. Buried underneath everything is a lonely, frightened female who has forgotten who she really is, and forgotten that there are people in the world would want to know that person.

history

When she was only two, the queen of Heim - her mother - launched an invasion on Ilusia. In a single night the entire royal family was murdered and the country fell under Heim's control. Her life changed drastically due to her mother's obsession with power in the years following that night. To eventually help out in these conquests, she endured extreme magical training. At the age of fifteen, she became a Rank S mage, making history in Adonea as the youngest to be able to reach that rank. Even now people are not sure how she managed to do this.

That same year, her father passed away. As he was a faerie and she took after him, she took his body to his homeland and burned him on the soil, then scattered his ashes to the wind. This was the first, and last, time she defied her mother, as the punishment she received when she returned to Heim was having her wings ripped from her body and the wounds torn in such a way that they would never grow back. With her wings gone, she is no longer able to take on a smaller form, nor does she produce the same dust that other faeries do. Her back is always covered due to these scars.

Rumors surrounding the Ilusian royal family began to stir. Her mother's paranoia jumped to full gear and she assigned her daughter to investigate. As her name and face are known throughout Adonea, she gave up trying to disguise herself by any means and instead brought along a nobleman's son that she grew up with and a maid to help take care of anything they needed. Cooking, cleaning, and things like that were not expected of her at home, and doing so now would be a grievance her mother dare not impose.
