"Choo!" Holly's shoulders rose up and she shook with a few more sneezes leaving her. It hadn't been the best idea to go to the beach that day, as the weather immediately took an unexpected turn with a chilly breeze. It wouldn't snow. Holly had lived in Ilusia long enough to know that even if Winter had just left them, they wouldn't be seeing the falling, white snowflakes again for awhile. The fair-blonde girl tried to wring her hair out to the best of her abilities as the combination of wind that swept across Asgard and her wet hair were not good. She had just wanted to enjoy the day off from the inn before she had to work a long shift the next day! She went to the beach, swam a little bit, and then finished with writing on loose, blank papers. Slipping off her sandals and held them with her free hand, her bare-feet rested against the ground to catch any warmth that it would have absorbed from the sun. Holly shook her head, continuing on her way to the inn by passing through the park. Even as she looked about it seemed that none of the students wanted to go out on a day like this one had turned out to be. Blue eyes gazing towards the sky, she squinted in annoyance. Miserable gray clouds were beginning to roll towards the sun. In a moment of vexation, she swore softly and sighed-- Woosh!"No! Hey, no!" Holly yelled, dropping her sandals and reaching out to snatch papers that had been blown out of her hands by a gust of wind. She ran around like a chicken with her head cut off, just trying to catch anything that she could. "Stupid papers! Get back here!" ★ run run run

The morning shift hadn't been too stressful. With the afternoon off, Theris had gone outside... and promptly gotten lost. On his way back, hoping he was getting closer to where he wanted to go, Theris wandered in through one end of the park and stopped to examine the school building. The wind was starting to pick up, and he looked up at the sky. Rain's coming. He had only the one set of clothing - if he got drenched, he would have to live with it until it dried. Turning away from the school, he began to walk through the park, making sure his hat was securely on his head. The wind blew something directly into his face, and he caught it - a piece of paper. Blinking, Theris looked down to read what it said. There was a sound from above as a second piece of paper flew by, and he reached out an arm to snatch that one, too. Was someone yelling in the distance? The wind was picking up quite loudly. ★ gotta catch 'em all

Leaping up, Holly managed to catch another piece of paper before searching around. Anymore? Holly's eyes narrowed as she started jogging and glancing around the other areas of the part. She wasn't seeing any, but, then again, paper liked to fly in the most unpredictable way possible. Understanding that she was probably going to lose some of them was something that she was going to have to face. Rewriting didn't bother her so much as the idea of someone picking up a page she left behind. Thinking of such, her blue gaze zeroed in on Theris, sliding to a stop in front of him. "Mine... Those are mine," She held her hand out expectantly, slightly out of breath from running around so quickly to get all that she could. Once she had them back, she bowed slightly. "Sorry. My bad. That wasn't a good greeting at all. Sorry," Holly waved her hand, still looking frazzled. She resisted the urge to look down at her pages and run through all the page numbers. "Hi, Theris."At a last moment thought, she looked between him and the pages. Had he been holding them for awhile? A light pink shade dusted her cheeks as she shifted her weight from foot to foot. "Didn't mean to ruin your day or anything! By, like, having you catch my papers. Uh, um... You didn't read them, by chance, did you?" She raised an eyebrow at him, pressing her lips together in a straight line as she tried not to show any emotion besides curiosity. ★ pokemon-- pieces of paper!

Theris blinked, tapping the pages together to get the corners to align properly before passing them over to Holly. " Hello, Holly," he answered, returning the bow. His mouth twitched. She really was a haphazard girl, wasn't she? Breaking things, losing things... " Are you missing any more?" Theris asked, looking first at the stack in her hands and then around at the park. He snapped his attention back to her, looking slightly puzzled. " Why would that ruin my day...? I'm glad they weren't lost. I didn't get a chance to read anything, no..." He had barely got the impression of words when he had caught a second page. Now, though, he was curious. " What were you writing about?" Was it a diary? That seemed unlikely; he'd expect a book for that, not a scattering of loose papers. ★ read all the papers!

Holly did a quick checklist of the page numbers, noting in her mind that she was up to thirty. She made a face, rearranging numbers and nodding. "I am just missing page seventeen. It's, um..." Holly shrugged her shoulders, glancing around in an attempt to not looking Theris in the eyes before realizing that was also probably rude to do so and promptly faced him once more. "I'm trying to, uh... write a book. It's not very good, though! And I, uh, just started, sooo--" She broke off her words with a nervous laugh, reaching up to scratch the back of her head. Holly hadn't told anyone because she felt like Fayt and Wynter would have poked fun and would have tried to read it when it's not near finished. She had thought about getting all the pages put together, but transporting them around in a notebook would have looked suspiciously like a diary and she didn't want any peeping. In an attempt to not seem like she was leaving all the finding up to Theris, Holly took a few steps around to gaze around more for her last missing page. Flicking a glance over her shoulder toward the taller gentleman, she decided to ask, "And what are you up to Theris? Besides saving my papers?" Might as well continue conversation. And if he had somewhere he needed to be, then, by all means, he could tell her at any time. ★ no! don't! it's not finished! D:

" That's impressive. You've just started, and you've already got seventeen pages? What's it about?" Holding his hat with one hand against the wind, Theris began to look around the park some more. It couldn't be so difficult to find one missing sheet of paper, could it? " I was going back to the inn... hopefully going the right way." A quiet, restrained laugh. " If we stay out here much longer, it looks like we'll get caught in the rain, book-in-progress and all." ★ nooooo save the book

Holly held her tongue, not wanting to correct Theris on the amount of pages she actually had. She didn't want to seem like she was bragging-- that right was reserved for her brother and Wynter. Besides, most of what she had written was a mix between actual, coherent sentences, scribblings about details here and there, and Holly marking words out because she didn't like what she had put down. "Mystery... I like the idea of those, um, dinner parties," She laughed again nervously, hoping it didn't sound ridiculous. "I've never actually had one and I really want to, but I like imagining what would happen. What would people be like stuck in a house together with a murderer there? I like how people think, but-- haha-- not me, though. I'm not too bright." Holly grinned. Her attention went back to getting them to the inn... which would have been easy if it were anyone else. "We can go back together? If you want? I mean... If I can find the inn. My mom calls me directionally challenged, sooo..." She was not making herself to be a very intelligent individual. She had lived at the inn her whole life and she still managed to get herself lost on the way to it. ★ i bet theris melts in the rain

Theris took another look around for the seventeenth page, with no luck. " I'd like to read it when you've got a draft together, if... that's alright." Everybody began somewhere when doing anything creative. She seemed pretty young, but he wouldn't judge the book-in-progress before he'd read it. Theris took another look around, trying to orient himself, before starting off in a direction. " I think it's this way." Not too bright. Directionally challenged. " Are you aware that you put yourself down like that...?" he asked, looking back at her. " I'm sure you're perfectly bright, and if you thought about it, you could figure out how to get home just fine." It sounded one self-depreciating step past modesty, and he was all too familiar with that. ★ melt melt

"Read it? Really?" Holly hadn't really even been planning to publish it; the book was just something to keep her busy. Would she mind having it published or even just read by one person? Sure. In fact, if she only had one person read it and like it, well... That sort of thing would be enough for her. Holly nodded, beginning to walk in the direction that he gestured. It wasn't that she didn't know where the inn was. Holly just ended up looking at other details on the road or in shops and she got distracted, thus leading her into unfamiliar territory. Or at least a location that wasn't familiar enough for her to tell which direction the inn was in. She tilted her head to the side, clutching the pages of her book to her chest. "Putting myself down...?" She supposed she had never thought about it as putting herself down, more like just joking about herself. Did people in Heim not do that? Maybe it was because she had lived with boys that had teased her about it all the time that it had just become normal to kid about herself with other people. "Ah, sorry. That's my bad-- but, um, thank you? -- I, uh... Don't get that a lot," She chuckled. ★ -has nothing to say- humdeedum~

Theris kept glancing nervously up at the sky. If the two of them got caught in the rain, well, he personally wouldn't mind too much, but her papers would obviously get soaked. " Well, if you don't mind." As a kid, whenever anyone had said anything insulting about him, Theris had simply agreed with them. Sometimes it helped avoid confrontation, particularly when dealing with her father. " It's alright." Theris cast another nervous glance at the sky. ★ should they get caught in the rain or is that too mean? he can coat shield her papers :c

"I wouldn't mind you reading it..." Holly, too, looked up at the sky with a wavering nervousness. She loved walking in the rain and often got scolded about getting a cold in doing so, but it was something that happened to be soothing to her. On any other day it would have been perfectly all right. The only problem was what she was carrying. Her gaze went from the sky to her papers with an edge of concern. She didn't want to rush Theris anywhere and she didn't want to ditch him when she already said she would walk with him back to the inn. Slowly, she made their pace a bit quicker-- a change so miniscule that it wasn't too noticeable to anyone who happened to walk by and hopefully not to the person she was accompanying. After all, he was taller and had longer legs, so it shouldn't have been too big of a difference, right? Well, she hoped anyway... Too late. As she recognized the road to be familiar and close to the inn, the first drops of rain began to fall. "Ack!" She sputtered as a drop splashed onto her hand right by the paper. "Should have worn a jacket..." She murmured to herself, looking about for something to use to hide them. She glanced at Theris for a moment, opened her mouth as if to say something, decided against it, and went about walking again. She hugged the pages to her chest before realizing it probably wasn't going to work that well. "Would you mind using your coat? She asked quickly, not wanting to look at him when she said it. It wasn't that it was embarrassing! ... No, it was. You didn't just ask people that. ★ oh no, you can be as mean as you want. c:0

Theris was wearing a hat, so the first raindrops on his head slipped by unnoticed. It was only when Holly spoke up that a droplet splashed onto the path in front of them. " Ah!" He undid the buttons down the front and slid his arms out of the coat, draping the entire thing around Holly's shoulders and doing up the topmost button to secure it on her. The coat was a little bit too large for Theris, so it was much too large for Holly - all the better. " Shall we run?" he asked, nodding at the road ahead. ★ wheeeeee

A surprised noise left Holly’s lips as Theris practically threw his coat onto her. Theris was by no means overweight. Quite the opposite. His height, however, put Holly in an awkward position for taking on his jacket, feeling like she would have fallen right out of it had he not done the top button. This was definitely not what she meant when she said that she wanted to use his coat as protection for his papers! The coat draped over her shoulders, though, and her arms tucked underneath, meant that the papers wouldn’t be damaged. Holly nodded swiftly to Theris before taking off towards the inn. At the end of the road sat the quaint home to her and her family. It only took a few seconds for Holly to push open the door, hold it open for Theris, and let it shut behind them as they entered the lobby. Holly shook her head. ”Sorry about that,” she breathed out before laughing softly. ”I didn’t realize you were gonna just throw your coat on me! That was very sweet of you, Theris.” As she spoke, she went about unbuttoning the jacket and handing it back to him gingerly as not to ruin it more than it had been. Her smile only stayed, or possibly widened, when she glanced at the pages and saw that none of them were lost to water damage. ★ Run. Run all the time.

Theris fell behind at first but then picked up speed until he was keeping pace with Holly. When they neared the door, he reached out a hand, but Holly beat him to it. He stepped inside, wiped his feet on the carpet for that purpose, and swept Holly a bow. " It seems we made it. Ah, thank you." He took the coat back, immediately putting it on over his damp shirt. " What else could I have done...?" he asked, his mouth twitching into a half-smile. He took a moment to think about it, though, and... he could have fit the papers under his coat, possibly. But then Holly herself would have gotten soaked. " I should go and try to dry off," he said, hunching his shoulders and pressing his chin deeper into the scarf. " So should you, for that matter." ★ Theris lost the race

There were plenty of options for Theris to have taken in that situation, but something about the genuine kindness of the action was refreshing. It was something that she had made a goal for herself to be as well as admired in others, especially if they did so in such an innocent way. Another small smile emerged as she looked up at the man, noticing him hunching his shoulders. ”I might just do that, Theris,” Holly nodded, beginning to walk towards her room. Calling over her shoulder softly, she continued, ”Be sure to air out your clothes so they don’t mold or anything disgusting like that. You like that jacket, don’t you?” A tiny tease, just hoping that he would relax in the slightest. He seemed to be tense or self-conscious of what he said. Pausing at the end of the hall, she grinned at him again. ”And thank you again, Theris. And go dry off.”★ A+ for effort and coat throwing
