That was just what he needed. Just like that all the tension drained from him, leaving nothing but amusement as he watched Fayt all but carry Holly off and throw them both into the water. Tis was what the beach was all about. Stepping up and closer to the water, Wynter reached to grab the end of his shirt. Lifting it up, he pulled it over his head and off. Rolling it up, he placed it off on the edge of the blanket, letting it drop down. A wide grin spread across his face, and he swiped his bangs to the side and out of his face. "Learning to swim is easy. We'll show you and you'll get it in no time." He still remembered when his father had taught Fayt and him when they were younger. After that, they had taught Holly. After that, they had spent as much time as possible at the beach when younger, spending long afternoons playing. Though that also meant getting sunburned. "Heads up!" Toeing his shoes off and tossing them to the side, Wynter ran after Fayt and Holly. Waiting fo the right moment when they would rise, he sent a splash of water at them. "Geez, this is cold. "These are our hosts for the day." Lycoris looked up at Xara from the blanket Fayt spread out for her. Seeing the maid in her usual get up did surprise her a bit, mostly because the sight of those clothes at the beach made very little sense unless someone planned to engage in fetish foreplay, just as the pale scars on Theris surprised her. Considering the life he went through, marks on the body were expected. That sort of the thing just wasn't something she noticed so easily in the past. "With the way the three of them are going, Theris, it may be safer out here with the two of us." The over-sized parasol in Xara's clutches would serve as a temporary beach umbrella to help keep some of the sun off them. She gestured with one hand to the maid, then made an opening motion while pointing towards the parasol. Hopefully it would be an easy enough thing to suggest without saying it. Seeing exactly how the mechanics of surfing worked from back here would become a problem in the near future. Biting back a sigh, Lycoris pushed back up into a standing position and kicked off her white sandals. A few steps put her close enough for the water to rush up to her ankles but far enough back so that she wouldn't suddenly take a dive into the water. "Was the trip here smooth, Xara?" Not a lot of time had been spent with the maid so far. Adell still might end up coming, though the longer time passed the more she doubted it. And here came the maid. Theris nodded politely to Xara before watching the stampede into the water. " I won't learn just by watching," he mumbled, making his way to the water's edge. He flinched as the water washed over his bare feet. " ...this is so cold. How do they swim in this...?" He felt far too underdressed to be out in public like this. Even in the summers back home, Theris had always worn his usual clothes. Actual temperatures rarely bothered him, only the feeling of being exposed. " I'll... wait until they stop splashing so much," he decided out loud, holding a hand up to shield his eyes. ★ blub blub gurgle

Fayt let out a rather unmasculine sound at the freezing cold water slung into him, which quickly turned into a laugh. "Midgets never prosper!" he said, grinning a bit and sending a wave of water back at Wynter and Holly before stepping back a bit. "Okay, okay, if we're teaching him how to swim we should probably stop that."
Turning to Theris, he raised one hand over his head. "We'll behave!" he called to the other young man with a bright grin. "Come on out. You can swim in your clothes, it'll just... get heavy after a while." Might as well warn him beforehand. Glancing back onto the shore, he couldn't help noticing the bright red hair and the maid costume (outfit?) of the other female that had showed up. That must have been the other one. Somehow, she was dressed even less appropriately for the beach than Theris was. What was her name? ...he couldn't remember off the top of his head. Holly shook her head, diving under the water before another wave of water could splash into her. Temperatures of water rarely ever bothered her, but she would admit that it was slightly cold on that day-- partially to her doing. The summer sun hadn't appeared yet, however, so the warmer waves also hadn't rolled in yet. "What I always do--" Holly answered Wynter when she popped her head above the surface and held up her hands, wiggling her fingers. "Magic~" Turning her attention to Theris, she called, "It's fine, Theris! Fayt and Wynter will behave from now on!" Holly went about using her magic to make the water warmer again, though she could only do so much with the great deal of it around them already chilly. Not much she could do about the whole ocean, now could she? Her eyes drifted to the shore and she thought about inviting Lycoris and... the maid (?) to swim as well, but the princess had made it quite clear that she would be staying on land. Were all rich people like that? If that was so, then Holly was glad that she wasn't like that. Ah, but she was probably giving a stereotype with those thoughts. Shaking her head, Holly decided that she wasn't going to think too hard on it. ★ bleh

They were gifted. For as long as he could remember, Fayt and Holly had always been... special. Something set them apart from everyone else he had ever met. It might have been their brilliance when others were around them, or the unique abilities they possessed. Charisma, an affinity for magic, and a presence that kept you thinking about them. He had never been jealous of it. From childhood he knew he would do anything to protect them. It was a promise he would be sure to keep. Gathering water in his hands, Wynter splashed himself in the face. Raking his hands through his hair he slicked it back out of the way, shaking his head at Holly all the while as she wiggled her fingers. Holding a finger up to his lips, he gradually moved behind Fayt. Reaching for his hair, he ruffled it, mixing in some water while he was at it. "Midget, huh? Just because you had a growth spurt doesn't make you any different from the rest of us." Grinning, the brunette let go as he released him, letting out a laugh while taking in a breath, calming. "So, starting with the basics?"★ adell, holly, lycoris, theris, fayt, and xara

That confirmed the assumptions. Pushing the parasol open, Xara adjusted its positioning until it was aimed directly towards the sun so as to keep Lycoris protected as much as possible. The sun was an evil thing, and the parasol was her best weapon to keep the princess covered. She tried to keep Theris covered at the same time as well, but her main target for coverage would be Lycoris. "The trip was mostly uneventful. The workers were somewhat rowdy, but nothing out of the ordinary for their sort. What about your own trip, milady? Lord Lysander?" Following the princess with the parasol propped against her shoulder, the maid paused briefly at the edge of the water to kick her own shoes off. Doing the same with her stockings wasn't an option while holding the parasol, but those could get wet without too many problems compared to her shoes. "If I may... How were you invited to this?" Leaning in and lowering her voice, Xara wasn't exactly subtle about trying to keep quiet while asking Lycoris about the locals. "They seemed friendly enough at the inn, but... I don't know. Will you be alright like this?" Even if there wasn't much to worry about considering just how friendly their hosts were, Xara still had to keep an eye on things. ★ adell windsor, fayt devanti, holly devanti, lycoris sotiris, theris lysander, wynter shea

From what I have learned in my short time here, declining to appear somewhere once you have been invited without presenting a good enough reason not to be there in the first place will make people look down upon you. This is not much different from what is expected back Heim, but the difference that does exist is that the reasons that are acceptable here are much less obvious than what we are used to." That might be a harsh assessment of the case. If she hadn't shown up, maybe people wouldn't even notice, and things would continue as normal. It would give more reason to talk behind her back. Trying to minimize that was in her best interest. "For what you asked before, the trip was fine. Adell Windsor is settling in well. Is the room arrangement suitable? The queen believed it would be best for you to share quarters with him in case he needs anything. Why, I am not entirely sure, but she also thinks that it might strike up something interesting. I am going to continue to hope and pray that she just means increasing in platonic affection for one another." A potential romantic relationship between Xara and Adell would only end in horror for all those who had to witness it. ...or it would be good for the two of them. Hard to guess those things. "Did you want to get in the water with them? If you have clothes for it, do not let me hold you back. " All right!" Theris called back to Holly, nodding. He turned back to Xara to answer her question. " I daresay it could have been much worse." They could have not made it over at all. The ship had been miserable, but he wasn't about to start complaining about it. That would accomplish nothing. " I should try it..." Already, he wanted to pull his sleeves down and run back to the beach blanket, but that wouldn't get him anywhere. He made his way out into the water in slow increments, shivering from the cold. He was about waist-deep when he stopped, hugging his stomach. ★ cooooold
