personality
Quiet is something of an understatement in regards to describing Julian. With a lack of any form of social graces, he's rather introverted and keeps a lot to himself. When he does speak, it is usually frank and to the point, never the type to mince words. In this sense, he can be brutally honest and not the person you'd want to ask for advice for. On a lighter note, if you want his complete honesty, then you wouldn't have to worry about him telling you a lie. He's not the type of person who'd easily trust somebody from the get-go. He grew up under the impression that most people are idiots, and still lives under that belief. Once the ice has melted, Julian can be considered an awfully loyal youth.
Due to his introverted nature, however, he's classified as a tsundere. It's not that he doesn't want to interact with other people. Rather, he doesn't know how to converse with them or know exactly what to say. Making friends hasn't been the easiest and prefers to close up his insecurities underneath the facade of apathy. He's just an awkward turtle is all. No big deal.
Julian's passion is in the form of literature. He loves engrossing himself in thick books with nothing but text painting worlds of a different kind inside his head. This probably doesn't help his introverted nature altogether, but hey, it makes him happy. On the down side? He has a very terrible habit of self-negligence, forgetting to eat for long periods of time. It wouldn't be uncommon for someone to come in and find him passed out on his desk. Despite his drawbacks, if one is deemed close enough to him, he's a rather protective and caring individual. Not only does he love reading, but if one took the time to sit down with him, he could share a story or two as well.

history
Julian was born in Volos but spent only a handful of years there before his family decided to move to Asgard. His memory of those short years were very fuzzy but nevertheless pleasant to say the least. Changing from a village up in the mountains to the big city of Asgard at a young age - it shouldn't be that harsh on a child, right? Well, that wasn't much of the case for the little lion cub. He was a shy child, which left him an open target to teasing and bullying. He shut himself out of the the world around him, declaring that the world was nothing short of idiots, and focused his attention mostly in books. He was a bright child, but refused to socialize with anybody unless it was absolutely necessary.
As he got older, he had a subtle change in heart but couldn't exactly find the courage to take the chance in making friends. As he watched children go out and play together, laugh together - it brought a stab of jealously in him. Why couldn't he be like them? Despite his internal struggle, he's accepted that he wouldn't be the same as other people. It only fueled his passion further into diving into books. Reading about history, legends or little useless information nobody was going to use in every day life.
Up until recently, he took a considerably huge jump of faith. With his vast knowledge, and capability to organize, and shuffle through books, he landed a position as a librarian in Meridell, in the Whispering Woods. He's still feels like a fish out of water with the over abundance of ethereal creatures hanging out, while he's the one in a few beastmen around. Still, his workspace is peaceful and he doesn't mind the people that come to read or check out books. Plus, this was a perfect opportunity to work on his social skills... and not neglecting to take care of himself.
