Fayt Devanti twenty winter the lost prince | Bisexual Six feet six inches Human Virgo |
personality
Fayt is an easy person to meet and a difficult person to get to know. He tends to play his cards close to his chest, as it were, and a smile from him doesn't definitely mean he's happy. As a matter of fact, those who know him best are able to discern his happy smiles from his angry smiles or, rarely, smiles borne from cruelty... which he does have a bit of. Overall, he's a very calm, rational, and intelligent person. He's also quite wise, all things considered, and you can count on him to have a level head if the situation calls for it. Unless someone he cares about is in danger, he doesn't lose his cool easily, even if the situation appears dire. He's quite good with words, unless he's embarrassed, in which case he tends to stumble over parts of sentences until he actually figures out what it is he's trying to say.
On the darker side, Fayt has extraordinarily low self-esteem and has very little, to nothing, good to say about himself. He judges his own self-worth by his accomplishments and by the things that he does for other people, rather than by what he's done for himself. This is part of the reason that he's almost entirely selfless and will only do things for his own gain if he's made to or somehow convinced that it will also assist someone else (a source of frustration, doubtless, for those close to him). Despite a largely pacifist attitude, he enjoys sparring and will frequently annoy the more experienced warriors in town until they agree to a friendly match with him. This rarely ends well for him.

history
Fayt was born as the eldest son and crown prince of the Ilusian royal family... not that he knows anything about that. Oh, sure, he's heard the story. Who in Ilusia hasn't? But it couldn't possibly have anything to do with him, right? Right. For all he knows, he's lived with his adoptive family in the inn for the past seventeen years, ever since he was barely over three years old. For as long as he can remember he's been best friends with Wynter Shea, and he's borderline overprotective of his little sister, Holly.
Most of his childhood is something of a happy blur. Though he knows full well that he was adopted (the different last names made this more than obvious), it's never bothered him and he's never felt abandoned or as though his parents didn't want him or his sister. It was just something that happened. His adoptive father taught him everything he knows about fighting when he was young, and ever since he was old enough to carry his own sword, he's gone out looking for adventures and typically finding them in the form of his own imagination. Does he want to be a hero? Not particularly, but a treasure hunter? Now, that would be cool.
Of course, the older he got, the less time he had for such things. With his studies complete and the knowledge that Wynter would be inheriting the inn one day, Fayt took on a job as a blacksmith's apprentice at the age of sixteen. He still works there, though he's less an apprentice now and has rather extensive knowledge of the forging and care of weapons. His other extreme interest? Don't laugh, but it's botany. He loves plants of any kind, particularly flowers, but he doesn't talk about it much because it's a rather feminine interest.
