personality
Ariadne is an extremely unconventional and eccentric girl with a rather bipolar personality to boot, switching between somewhat shy and reserved and loud and abrasive. With her odd and convoluted method of thinking, it is extremely easy for words to be misinterpreted by her, which in turn quickly flares her volcanic temper. Her attitudes change very quickly -- she can go from quietly introspective to bold and angry to excited and happy within moments of each other. Seeing her happy, however, is often a sign to get the hell away as it generally means she is taking sadistic pleasure in some form, either by torturing someone else or otherwise causing them agony.
Whenever she is by herself, Ariadne tends to be rather quiet, and somewhat shy. Furthermore, she tends to have inner conversations with imaginary friends she created long ago -- a habit she still carries to help her cope. When approached by strangers, she usually remains in this quiet state until she has discerned the other's purpose; if they are a threat, she instantly becomes ferocious and is prone to violent tendencies. If not, while the quietness gradually fades, she is somewhat more docile than her other half. It should be noted that she tends to naturally be extremely rude and harsh towards men, as she vehemently hates them, and grows over-protective of other females as well, instantly rushing to their rescue if she believes they are in need of help. All in all though she is something of a basket case on the teetering edge of sanity, she does possess a good heart and a desire to help and protect the weak.

history
Ariadne ran from home at twelve years of age, for reasons quite obvious. Starting at the age of eight, she - like her mother - was subjected to violent abuse and assault by her father, experiences that happened in alarming frequency. And though it was never confirmed, she believes that her birth had actually been a result of this abuse her mother suffered. The time her father was at work was the only blessing she ever had; both she and her mother stayed close during those times and tried to ease each other through the trauma. They were more like sisters than a mother and child, in fact closer even than that. They fought to survive every day together, supporting each other, and easing each other on the days her father decided to indulge himself. She had believed this was all life would be, all she would live to experience. She came to depend not only on her mother for support, but friends -- fictitious people she spoke to in her head that helped her during the roughest of times.
It wasn't until she was twelve that the chance for escape arose; their home was broken into by thieves, while all three were at home. The perpetrators were armed, and when her father sought to resist, he found himself quite dead. The thieves took what they wanted, all of the riches that could be found in their home, and left -- unknowingly freeing the mother and daughter from their eternal torture. The two fled swiftly thereafter, escaping to a new home far away. While the girl's quiet and shy personality still partially remained, it was fractured; part of her declared that she would never be victimized again, and as a result the fierce, angry, vicious side of her was born, a side of her that enjoyed causing pain and walking all over others to preserve her from further victimization.
Now at the age of fifteen, Ariadne is beginning to interact with others; finally after three years she believes she is ready to face society, but still, a great hatred for men has burned itself into her soul and a distrust of others is close at heart. Now living with her mother in a small home, she lives in constant fear that her father will somehow be around every corner waiting for her.
