Cassie First post with Seth goes to you <3 | The floral fragrance of flowers flourished within the Memorial Garden. More so with the present season being spring. Bright colors flooded his lone vision as if he saw a splash of the rainbow all around him. It brought a sense of tranquility within the one-eyed male fae who arrived to pay the area a visit. He was still trying to adjust to not only the new area but the fact that he lost half of his depth perception. The scar over his missing eye wasn't painful as it was when the damage was done, but memories were still fresh in his head. The contrast of bright blooms in his sight was a welcoming distraction from having him dwell on traumatic events.
The crimson haired bodyguard of the royal fae princesses took a deep breath in. His nose instantly hit with the aroma of blooms. The product of rebirth when the earth came back alive after long frost. Seth pondered for a moment or two if the girls paid a visit here yet? Perhaps they would enjoy it for the colors, and mayhaps have another place to place on their downtime? A thought for another time when he encountered them.
Actually, he spoke too soon. Another presence was picked up. His guard lowered slightly, if only because he recognized her before she approached him. “Good day, my lady,” he greeted. He turned around to perform a proper bow before the youngest princess of the royal Fae family. “Fancy finding you here. Is there anything you need?” |

| Cassandra wondered how long it would be before she was struck with wanderlust to go beyond the borders of the Whispering Woods. The thoughts were entertaining, but she knew she would not act on them without permission. She was content to remain within Meridell until her parents recalled her sister and herself back home. Hopefully there was not a rebellion taking place, or some sort of court plot that would endanger them. It would have been nice to have been presented with a reason for why she was here. Even a lie would have given her something to assuage the worry that plagued her. Now all she could do was wander around this town and hope to keep herself occupied however she could that was within reason.
The flowers certainly presented her with beautiful scenery, though. Everywhere she turned, the aroma of the flowers emanated from the air. Cassandra believed that this garden could almost compare to the one her parents cultivated in Avalon. She wished she had her sister’s company with her, but perhaps it was a good thing they spent a little time apart. The two of them had always been together as far as she could remember. This was certainly a new opportunity to meet new people, which she was excited to do. Cassandra made a note to herself to bring a book here with her the next time she visited. Reading a book beneath the comforting aroma of the flowers would be rather relaxing.
Her expression morphed into one of brief surprise when she heard the familiar voice of her bodyguard. Cassandra had not expected him to be here, and she sincerely hoped he was not following her. She resisted the urge to sigh as he bowed low before her. If he intended to keep their presence downplayed, then he was not doing an apt job of it. Her lips quirked into a slight smile as he asked her if she needed anything. “Nothing but your company, since you are already here,” she replied. Blue eyes flickered to the patch he now wore over his eye and she could not help but feel somewhat responsible for the wound. Her fingers twitched to reach out and brush over the injury gently, and before she knew it, she had already done so. |

| His lone emerald hue lit up gently as he watched the princess raise her hand up brushing against his eye patch. Memories of that encounter were still vivid in his mind. A reminder of actions in order to protect the faerie twins from danger. An arrow shot in the air aimed to take out the nimble nymphs of the forest. If he did not act any sooner than he did then he would’ve failed his duty to protect them. Not only as a proper guardian but as a friend as well. The royal faerie twins were his closest friends. Was it reckless? Some may consider it very much so, but Seth did not have the slightest regret. He lifted up his hand to place it on top of Cassandra’s palm.
“You’re still thinking about it,” he spoke with a calm confidence, “You shouldn’t burden yourself with guilt. I did what I had to do. Such was the sacrifice to be made.” It was something he’s long since accepted afterwards. Scars were the only souvenirs that life tended to leave behind. Be it in the form of ones of the heart or even on the skin such as Seth’s example. What didn’t kill you only makes you stronger after all. Besides, there was no need to let the air become somber with recollecting an unfortunate event.
“How do you feel about our living arrangements? If there’s anything you’re not fond of then changes can be made immediately.” He gazed out to the open fields to admire the more aesthetically pleasing scenery. His head quickly flitted up to notice a couple of southern birds who returned from their migration. They swirled around in the air as if they were happy to be back home. Seth pierced the currents with a whistle mimicking their sounds to draw them near. His free hand out to allow them to perch upon his palm. Afterwards, he displayed them before the maiden with hair the color of sunlight. |

❀ Seth~ He is so sweet. *~* | Cassandra wished such an injury had not been taken on her behalf. Of course, that was what a bodyguard was meant to do. How could she not feel guilty, though? The arrow had been meant for her or her sister, but he had blocked the path of the arrow without thought to his own wellbeing. Was her life worth that much more than this? No, she certainly did not think so. Being born to privilege did not make her of more value than another being. She was very blessed to count Seth among her closest confidantes and friends. Cassandra did not have that many to begin with, but she would rather have one trusted friend than dozens that did not truly care for her. Her lips quirked into a weak smile as Seth placed his hand over her own.
“Of course I am. It should not have happened at all,” she murmured. Goddess, she wished she had been taught proper healing magic to have helped tend to the injury. It was a blessing that the arrow had not sunk all the way in to pierce his brain, or it truly could have died in an instant. Her heart clenched at the thought. The important thing was that it had not happened, and all of them were alive and well. The loss of an eye seemed little when compared to the loss of a life. No amount of reassurance from Seth or herself would rid her of the guilt. Such things took time. Emotions were a complicated affair that even the most brilliant of mind had trouble understanding.
“I am quite content with our living situation. Meridell is not Avalon, but it is quite beautiful and similar in appearance. I need nothing, I assure you.” As if she was about to ask anything more of Seth when he had saved her life. Anything that was wrong could be assuaged in time when she grew accustomed to the idea of being away from home. Cassandra tilted her head when she heard Seth let out a piercing whistle. Blue eyes warmed the moment a bird landed on his palm as he presented it to her. She cooed gently at the small creature, reaching out with her free hand to stroke it’s feathers gently. |

| Indeed, Meridell – as beautiful as it was in its own rights – could not replace their home. It was but a shock absorber, a veil to prevent further isolation of what laid in store of the land of their birth. Trouble ailed the faerie kingdom but as for what details to what it was eluded the crimson haired bodyguard. Was he worried about the King and Queen? Of course. Was he concerned about his own family back home? Naturally, but fretting over everything over every little moment would not further their return back to Avalon.
“Meridell is more like a shock absorber. A temporary replacement with familiar elements to keep the homesickness from being too great, whereas if we were to seek refuge elsewhere.” He did empathize with the princess though. One could take a person out of their home, but nobody could ever take home away from the person. Home was where the heart was after all. “Rest easy on your thoughts, my lady. Like the birds, no matter where we go, always know that home isn’t just a place. It follows you wherever you go, or where your heart resides.” And he mentioned mentally in the back of his head, he will protect her. So long as he drew breath then the princesses will remain safe. That is, if they don't intend on killing him first with their mischief.
“Have you by any chance made any new friends since we’ve started living here, Cassie?” Hopefully, those who would be of good influence rather than encourage her mischievous antics. The faerie-elven settlement was a rather tranquil village, but nobody could ever be certain with a deviant thought sparked in a young, independent spirit such as the young princess. |

❀ Seth~ Sey never has bad posts! | That was an apt way to describe Merridell. Cassandra wondered how long they would remain here, though. A few weeks? Months? Surely no longer than a few months, right? She nearly blanched at the possibility of being here for years. Illusia was surely a beautiful country to live in, but it was not her homeland. A temporary respite from whatever turmoil was occurring back home. At least the three of them had comfort in this familiar place. It seemed life would not be going along the path she would like, but she would endure as a princess should. There was one nice point about living here, though. Cassandra did not have to worry about an arranged marriage for now. When had Seth become so wise over the years? She could remember playing with him while she was a young girl and now here they were.
“You have certainly grown more wise, Seth. A contrast to the boy that used to follow me into the forests to explore for treasure,” Cassandra mused gently. Her lips curled into a thoughtful smile as she gently moved her hand from his cheek. Since his hand was still atop her own, she merely twined her fingers through his. It was a gesture she had done when times over the years. His friendship had always been a constant to her during her seventeen years of life. At least she had Seth had her sister with her in this strange, new land. A walk through these gardens would be a rather nice way to pass the time.
“I did make one new friend. Seyka is her name, and I met her in the library while we both irritated the librarian. He is a beastman, and we had quite a difficult time in resisting the impulse to scratch his ears. His reaction was quite endearing.” No doubt Julian dreaded the next time the two of them decided to visit the library. With a gently tug of their joined hands, Cassandra lead Seth forward to walk. “And what of yourself? Have you met anyone, or are you going to watch every step my sister and I make?” |

| “Ensuring the safety and well-being of you and your sister is top priority above everything else.” he recited the same words he was given when he was announced the royal bodyguards for the princesses. “Socializing with the locals may prove beneficial in learning more about Illusia, but I believe it better in the long run not to grow fond of a temporary shelter.” In the end, when the time came for them to return back home – whenever that may be – parting with Meridell would not be as bad as it possibly be if sentimental attachments were formed.
For the time that they would be spending, at least for the princesses, he was glad that they found it easy to blend in. Such a small town, where he could probably guess everyone knew everybody; they would fit right in and make plenty of friends. It was a start that Cassie had found somebody she could spend time with. “Why does that not surprise me...” he sighed. He made a mental note to make sure he didn't mention Cassandra when he went to go check out a book at the library. Less he wanted to face the aggression of a very hissy librarian.
His train of thoughts was taken away by the sudden sensation of warmth intertwining his fingers. Emerald eyes looked over to find the young fae princess’s hand laced between his. All throughout his life, people had told him over the years that he tended to act like a mannequin than an actual being. His life had been stringed up from many roles throughout his life. He was a servant boy, and then when he reached the rite of age, a bodyguard of the girls. People often wondered if the boy had a mind of his own rather than just continuously following cold orders. He didn’t care.
It was moments like these when he affirmed his friendship with Cassie that this. His position, and place was perfectly aligned to what he felt was right. What he was doing was worth it. “I wouldn’t consider it wisdom, but rather taking life experiences into consideration.” He started following Cassandra upon her beckoning. His hand still in her hold as they walked along the pathway taking in the scenery. “Besides, I remember a young princess who insisted on exploring for treasure, refused to return home unless I went with her. She grew from a rebellious brat to a beautiful young woman.” A small gleam of amusement glinted in his eye. He didn't play around often, but he left an only exception towards Cassie. |

| Cassandra merely glanced at Seth with a rather deadpan expression. Was he really reciting those words by heart? She merely shook her head as she sighed. It would be nice if he did not take his duty so seriously, but she did not fault him for that. It was comforting to know that he cared about her and her sister enough to do so. A desire that went beyond his duty of being a personal bodyguard. “That should not deter you from making a friend here. You need to socialize with more people beyond my sister and I. I am sure a male influence would be appreciated, even if I do not mind practicing more male appreciated activities. Will you do so? For me?” Wide, blue eyes were turned on him with a slightly pleading edge that he could not possibly refuse.
Walking through the garden like this was a pleasant experience for her. Spending time with Seth like this felt like a rare gift these days. Cassandra had spent much of her time trying to keep herself busy, or she would grow mad with worry about what was going on with her parents. It was easy to fall into her usual friendship with the older male, though. He meant so much more to her than a bodyguard or servant or something else like that. Those were merely roles he filled and did not encompass who he was as a person. It was moments like these that made her feel happy and content that she did not have to wear her usual mask when presented to a court that expected the world of her.
“Then you have plethora of life experience,” she replied with a teasing smile. Her brow did quirk at his own teasing remark in return. A brat? Well, that was a rather unflattering choice of words to describe her with! “I would hardly call myself a brat. I merely know how to get what I want and rarely allow anyone to dissuade me. You have always fallen to my wishes amiably enough. As for beautiful? Thank you for noticing.” Without much thought, Cassandra pressed a kiss to his cheek with a giggle. |

This post sucks from the last one I tried to give you </3 | A friend, huh? Was that really what she wanted for him? Perhaps it was because of his upbringing that he found the need to socialize with others a second priority. Seth had been working since he was able to walk, understand the world around him and talk coherently. Something about it felt right to jump right away into working. Not to mention he didn’t his parents praising him for the chores that he worked on with no complaints or voiced any reluctance. Many servants were worried that the child was nothing more than a puppet. No heart or emotions of his own from his lack of childlike actions. That wasn’t true. Not even in the slightest. When he was with the faerie princesses, they bring him out of his dutiful nature and make him feel more like his actual age. Including the many adventures into the woods to seek treasure or some grand scheme they would always pull on him. He didn’t mind them in the slightest because those were the times he actually had fun. The royal faerie princesses were more than important figures he had to protect. They were his closest and true friends. Especially Cassie.
So when she asked him if he would at least try to make one friend here for her… well, how could he say no? He looked at the golden haired maiden. A small nod bobbed his head. “If it is your wish then I will try,” he complied with no quarrels. In the meantime, he was more than content with enjoying the present with Cassie. He never truly understood why she did such things like hold his hand. In comparison to her own velvet hands, Seth’s hands had been calloused mercilessly over the years of hard training. The touch of a friend was more than welcoming all the same.
He could see that the worry of what was happening back home burdened Cassie’s mind. He was sure it was the same for her twin sister. Who could blame them for their sentiments? Not to mention the travel from Avalon could be seen wearing them for worse upon their arrival in Meridell. The familiarity of holding a hand of familiarity was most certainly a welcome gesture to him. “I am not a man who minces words, princess. I only speak the truth of the girl I had to watch over since the...” His lone eye widened as he stopped dead in his track of speech. Cassie leaned up pressing her lips against his cheek. His cheeks burned softly a pale pink. His heart racing suddenly in his chest at the instant discomfort. Why did she insist on torturing him like this?
She was a cruel woman, but he'd sworn to protect her. Nobody else could stir the feelings that boils underneath his skin the way his princess sparked in him. “Please, princess. Save your affection for someone far more worthy of your time.” he spoke as he looked over in the gardens. He was most certainly not worth it. |

❀ Seth~ SeySey has best posts! | Cassandra was content enough with the promise that Seth would at least try. There was nothing more she could ask of him, and she was confident he would make an effort. Perhaps she could bring him to the library with her next time to meet Julian. Surely Seth’s more quiet nature would be welcomed by the rather temperamental beastman. She would have to be on her best behavior if she did so, or such a meeting had a chance of not going well. Her eyes wandered over the seemingly endless expanse of flowers again. Whoever took care of this garden did a wonderful job. The scenery left her feeling homesick, but the familiarity of it was also a reassurance. Hopefully their home would still be there and whole when her parents called them all back.
Polite manners and masks were not what she wanted right now. Cassandra wanted Seth to relax and drop such courtesies when there was no one else to watch them. He was certainly letting his guard down as he always did in her company, but there were still a few walls. Some built from years of habit that were always difficult to push past. No, she did not blame him for that. They all had habits that were hard to put aside even when there was little danger of being caught. She knew her action had certainly caught him off guard, but she did not regret it. Cassandra pretended not to notice the flush of color to his cheeks as his words caught in his throat. She dared not to giggle, though.
“You are worthy of my time and I will not hear anything saying otherwise,” she replied. Her lips curled into a slight smile before diverting her attention back onto the flowers. Cassandra really did not wish to push him too much with her more forward actions. Perhaps a change in topic would be better? “I do wonder what the rest of Illusia is like. I would like the change to visit Asgard while we are here. I wonder how different this country is from Avalon.” Her country seemed to be nothing but an endless forest, but that was not the case with Illusia. |

| As always, the iron-will of the young faerie princess was as strong as ever, never relenting to anything other than what she desired. Of course, she would protest otherwise when he told her that he wasn’t worth her time. Cassandra was the one who always included him in her plans, even when he was reluctant to participate in them. Despite his silent protests though, being able to spend time with the princess was one of the boons in his life that meant more to him than all the riches in the world. That was part of her nature. Although he relished such kindness – Seth didn’t deserve it. She was a princess, who will one day have to marry a prince in the future. Be it for a political gain between kingdoms or to strengthen bonds between other faerie realms. The crimson haired male should be content with being able to guard her and her sister with his life. Nothing more, nothing less. “You're most kind, my lady.”
As they strolled through the gardens a brush of wind bristled through the air. The cool air felt nice as it calmed the warmth of his face from being taken by surprise no thanks to Cassie’s actions. Petals from various flowers whirled in the winds. He gently released the young blonde woman’s hand for a moment to bring both of his hands up to gather as many petals as he could collect. Upon gathering all that he could collect, he walked over to a small tree, gesturing for Cassandra to follow. He sat down before putting the petals down in a neat pile. “I can most certainly assure you that what you discover while out of our fair kingdom, things will be different. For better or for worse.” He pulled out a thin leather string from his pocket before the one-eyed male fae began to weave the colorful petals together. Upon completing his little ‘master piece’, he revealed a crown made of petals with a heavenly fragrance.
“I would advise against moving too hastily towards other places for the time being. With Avalon the way it is now, going to Asgard may not be the best of plans.” He couldn’t be too careful. The ambush that took place from their trip to Illusia from Avalon was proof of that. He understood the sentiments of Cassie’s desire to see what she hasn’t seen before. Though her safety came first above all else. He raised his hand up with the crown of flowers up to play on top of Cassie's head. |

| Cassandra knew her stubbornness was far from her most endearing trait, but it was one she admired in herself. She was certainly no weak-willed maiden content to do whatever was asked of her. Playing the part of a demure princess was one thing, but that hardly meant she was without a mind of her own. Well, as much as she could have one while she was still unbound and relatively free. The idea of being forced into a political marriage nearly made her stomach twist in anxiety. Such a thing had never settled well with her, especially since she felt she had more than ample time to do so. Centuries, if one were to be technical. She did not wish to think on such far away things, though.
Her head tilted to the side when she felt Seth’s hand slip from her own. Blue eyes followed him curiously as he walked forward to capture several flower petals floating along the breeze. Cassandra moved to sit beside him beneath the tree he had chosen to rest again. What was he doing now? “Of course things will be different here. I have heard the rumbling of rumors that change seems to be falling upon Illusia. I am not too eager to see what kind it is,” she answered with a slight furrow of her brow. Her gaze fell onto the leather cord he had produced and watched with rapt attention as Seth began to form a crown of flower petals. It reminded her of the times they had done so as children.
“Perhaps not, but I do not wish to stay within Meridell forever. I do not believe anyone would recognize me in Asgard, since this is my first time outside of Avalon.” Cassandra would wear a cloak and cover her face if she had to, but she was determined to see more of Illusia at some point. She bowed her head slightly as Seth placed the crown of flowers upon her head and she smiled brightly. It was the first crown she had worn in quite awhile, but this was more grand than any of the jewels she had been gifted back home. |

| He couldn’t blame her for her lack of enthusiasm over what was befalling over Ilusia as a whole. The winds of change were whispering in their ears, but the message the spirits of the elements was encrypted in riddles that couldn’t be solved so easily. “This is true,” he agreed, “There will be a time and place for everything. Just be careful with what you wish for, my lady.” Sometimes desires could be granted permission to become a reality, but not in the way the wisher so wanted it. Getting a good look of Cassandra wearing the crown of flowers reminded him of days of their youth. When they sat in the floral fields weaving blooms into little jewelry. It was a lovely touch, but the golden haired lass was beautiful even without the accessories.
“It suits you, Cassie,” he mentioned with a ghost of a smile. Staying in their little sanctuary was but a temporary state. He was sure that it will all change in due time, but there was no need to rush anything of the sort. He couldn’t imagine a more comfortable setting to enjoy the time they had together the way they were now. She looked like the goddess of spring returning from the underworld after the world was plunged into bitter frost. Awakening all that slept beneath the blanket of cold and ice. Though he dared not speak such.
“Have you been practicing any new songs as of late?” he inquired. Often times than naught, he would find the younger twin princess performing a sweet melody or two. A voice that rang a melding chord that soothed any ears that gave it a listen. |

❀ Seth~ Because I love the Song of Healing. -shot- | Cassandra always had to be careful of what she wished for. Her lips twisted into a bitter half smile for a moment before she quickly masked the expression. The desire for freedom had been met with her parents sending her sister and herself away with no explanation and little warning. It weighed on her mind so constantly, but she did not wish to mar this moment with her bitterness. Her expression became more subdued and more distant as she placed herself into the more comfortable mask of a courtier. Seth had not meant anything by his comment, but that did not stop her emotions from railing against the warning. It was maddening to be treated like a child when she was not. Even her closest friends sometimes forgot that.
“Thank you,” she murmured in gratitude. Her mood had been dampened, but she tried to push that away. The garden was peaceful and she was in good company. What reason did she have to be truly upset? Cassandra allowed her fingers to tangle in the fabric of her summer dress as she smiled a little more brightly. Crowns of flowers often spoke of childhood days spent running through beautiful gardens and with close friends. They were memories she doubted she would ever forget even with her long lifespan. Certainly they would carry her stressful times such as these when she had little else to look forward to.
“Day to night, dark to light, fall the sands of time. Let the years like the gears of a clock unwind. In your mind, walk through time back to better days. Memories, like a dream, wash tears away…” Cassandra trailed off. There was more to the song she was working on, but it helped to pass the time. Song and music were two hobbies she doubted she would ever tire of. Now if only she had remembered to bring her lyre with her, but the suddenness of the move had caused her to leave several of her more dear possessions behind. |

It's such a haunting melody <3 | Was freedom truly free? Seth overheard a wiseman once say that fate provided the paths they took in their lives, but the choices they made determined which way the courses of their lives went. For every action there was a reaction, and so on and so forth. Injuries that didn't kill a man would one day turn to scars. Sacrifices made in the name of their believes would be recorded as honorable movements. Would the price of this so called 'freedom' to do as they please be worth the dangers faced up ahead? Seth did not like going in blind which was the most worrisome about being in a territory beyond their knowledge save for common facts. By no means did he believe the girls he was guarding to be children, but many times they forgotten, they're not in safe hands. If Rhiannon or Cassandra were in danger then it was on his head to make amends for not being the bodyguard he was now... but more importantly, he could never in any life or the next, replace those lives of the girls.
Though in return, as Cassie's friend, would it right of him to stop her. To keep her locked up like a caged bird in the name of protection? It left Seth torn on what to believe was right in the end. Was forsaking desire and happiness truly worth the consequences that could potentially come in the future? Does that not frightened people? Or does it truly matter?
The voice of the young twin faerie princess drew him out of his pensive contemplation. His lone emerald eye transfixed itself upon the melding melody. Like hearing a ghost loom through a grave on a tranquil cemetery. Seth closed his eye and allowed his ears to do the listening. One palm resting in his lap whilst the other dropped to his side. Unaware that it laid right beside Cassandra's as he relaxed listening to her sweet siren-like song. Maybe not right away... Maybe not any time soon, but perhaps when the time felt right, he would have no quarrels with taking the girls (discreetly) to see the world as they so pleased. |
