Cassandra continued to hum the melody gently even if she had not thought of all of the lyrics as of yet. It was lighter than the songs she had begun to sing as of late. Perhaps her moods were falling into a more depressing state than she had realized. It was easy enough to hide it from others and even herself. She had always strived to be a rather cheerful and bright person in contrast to Rhiannon. Even if she was younger, she had always felt the need to watch over her much more quiet sister. One of them had to be the more vivacious of the pair, and it had always fallen to her. Sometimes she wondered how much of her personality was true and how much of it was a mask she hid behind. Did she even know who she truly was?

Seth’s hand rested beside her own as she glanced at him from the corner of her eye. It was pleasing to see that her song had relaxed him somewhat. Cassandra was pleased to see one of them at ease. Such things would take more time for her, since she had always kept a part of herself locked away even from those closest to her. A strange way to behave, since she had no reason to. Her childhood had always been a pleasant one. Even her teenage years had never given reason to complain. Well, not this portion of it. Cassandra would simply have to find a way to learn to deal with such emotions, or push them so far from her mind that they would no longer bother her.

“Perhaps we should head back. I am sure Rhiannon will be worried,” Cassandra suggested with a wan smile. Her hand was placed upon Seth’s as she laced her fingers through his. A familiar, comforting gesture she could not abandon. Pulling the bodyguard up, she pulled him after her as she continued to hum the melancholic melody. Hopefully she could follow the lyrics for herself as time continued to pass them by.
