If you ever meet Jamie, just be warned... She's very, very excitable. Very curious, very loving, very emotional. Almost everything about her is over the top. There's no way around it, either. She loves almost anyone and anything... Except mermaids. And water.
Jamie is a larger than life type of girl. She dreams of exploring the land outside of Volos, unlike her closest friends and most of the inhabitants she is around. There's just something about adventure that makes her skin tingle! She doesn't like to sit still, unless someone is petting her ears or playing with her hair. Jamie turns into a puddle of mush if that happens... It's one of the easiest ways to get her to calm down.
Saying she's "dumb" is a bit mean. Though it wouldn't be too surprising... She is definitely not the smartest person in Volos. By far. She lacks street smarts and lacks the ability to tell when someone is using her, manipulating her, or just being a pervert. Let's just say she has no street smarts, and instead only seems to remember important information if it's related to food. IE, what will kill you if you eat it, etc.
Jamie is a huge cry baby. She doesn't like to be teased and will get emotional if someone makes fun of her. You'd think with how happy-go-lucky she is, she'd just brush it off... Sometimes she can, other times she can't. If she's alone, she will give in to her emotions because no one will have to help her. It's when she's around others that she tries to bottle her emotions up. Jamie doesn't want to be a burden to people, so she tries to keep them hidden. Oblivious, she doesn't seem to realize that it is quite obvious to tell what she is feeling.
Rest assured, you'll never meet someone quite as devoted as Jamie. She loves nearly everyone and will hug and cuddle and glomp them all day long~!

Jamie's family was not originally from Volos. Her grandparents came from a tribe that lived in seclusion deep in the Whispering Woods. Things started to grow tough for the tribe, however. Their seclusion had started to lessen due to their need for more supplies and the like. There was some strife with the elves, who had claim over the land for far longer than they did. When Jamie was just an infant, the tribe decided to leave to Volos, where the rest of the beastmen lived.
The ocean was a lovely and much missed sight for some of the elders. Many men, women and children ventured to the coast to take a peek. It was unlike anything they had seen before! Many were oblivious to the mermen that were sneaking their way up to the shore. An onslaught occurred that day. The men fought against these newfound enemies. Among them was Jamie's father, who ended up getting slain that day. After fleeing the scene and grieving their dead, the tribe picked up their belongings and carried on to Volos.
The beastmen in Volos were none too receptive, but they both now had a common enemy. With hesitance, the tribe was let in and slowly they grew into one whole community. Jamie grew up with her grandparents and mother, and she made friends quickly.
Despite hearing the tales of what happened between her tribe and the mermen, Jamie still wants to explore outside of Volos. Her grandmother has told her beautiful stories of how wonderful the woods are, and she wants to see them someday. The itch just keeps growing as she gets older. Will she ever see a world outside of Volos?
