From his father, Theris inherited intelligence, an incredible memory, discipline, willpower... but not an ounce of the ruthlessness for which Kieran Lysander is so renowned for. From his mother, Renna, Theris inherited patience, kindness, an appreciation for beautiful things, a great love of books, and, unfortunately, her heart condition.
Theris is soft-spoken and serious. There are few things he would like more than to be no one important. He doesn't make friends easily, but makes a loyal friend. Reasonable rather than argumentative, Theris tries to either subtly intimidate, swiftly deal with, or avoid those he anticipates coming into conflict with. His appearance is deceptively delicate, and he uses that to his advantage.

Even before Theris was born, there were high expectations of him. Second son of army general Kieran Lysander, a man proclaimed by many to have one of the greatest strategic minds in history, Theris - from the moment he was born - was expected to follow in his father's and brother's footsteps one day.
Theris never joined the military, unlike his elder brother, Kyris. He spent as much time as he could with his mother, either in the palace library or training in secret. He was taken to enough formal occasions to have many acquaintances, and yet, somehow, he never managed to keep more than a few friends.
At seventeen years old, he tried to kill his father and failed... but only barely. His sentence was lessened due to his father's influence, and Theris was merely imprisoned for five years.
Those five years out of the public eye had nearly been enough to make the public forget about him... until there was a much-unexpected prison break only days before the conclusion of Theris's sentence.
