Atticus bit his bottom lip as he looked up at the rippling surface of the water, unsure if he really wanted to break the calm covering. Sure he'd gone up to the surface at the beach a few times in his life, generally keeping his distance. He knew that people knew of the merpeople's existence, he'd heard people talking about it as much, but he still wasn't all together too sure about people knowing about him. The more he talked about being up on land, the more he wanted it, and the more he wanted it, the more and more impatient he was becoming.
Raking his fingers through floating hair, the Fallon blew bubbles. Fuck it. I'm going up there. Finally deciding, Atticus pushed off the rock he'd been leaning against, swimming towards the surface. Once he reached close enough to the surface, he paused, looking upwards. From what he could tell, it didn't appear as though there were any people up on the beach. Even then, it wasn't the people he had to worry about, rather, it was the beastmen. The last thing he really wanted was to have a situation when either of them.
The water rippled around him with rings that started smaller and gradually grew as he brought his head and shoulders above the water. A gentle breeze blew by, causing goosebumps to rise to his flesh. He smiled as he looked around at all the bright greens and yellows and blues, all the beautiful sights that were just there to be appreciated for their beauty. Atticus swam towards a large rock, keeping his bottom half hidden, just in case he really needed to make a quick escape.
