Quincy let out a long, slow sigh as he twisted his way through the water rather lazily. It was a relatively quiet day in Lemuria, so the queen had given him the rest of the day to do with as he pleased. And that would have sounded like the best deal in the world for most people, but unfortunately, it didn't to Quincy. He had already spent the majority of his morning doing his duties as prince and suddenly stopping seemed like a waste of a day. So he tried to use the time given to him to study... until--for whatever very annoying reason--he developed a headache. Aggravated that the day seemed intent on being squandered, he slammed his book he'd been reading shut and went for a swim. Maybe it would clear his head and give him some quiet thinking time.
Quincy's fin had led him to the edge of Lemuria, where the city's inhabitants were few and far between. It was quiet this far out, but still close enough to feel like one was in the city. At this point, the merman had grown tired of wandering and stopped to rub his forehead out of pure exhasperation. He was bored of wandering, floating still made him feel as though he should doing something, his mother had pardoned him from the courts, studying was out of the question... what was a guy supposed to do with this cursed day now? With an annoyed huff, Quincy sank down to the sand below and wiggled a bit to burrow down. He let his arms linger at his sides and his mind go blank. He watched with passing interest at the schools of fish that swam by until each one was out of sight.
Such a waste. He lifted his tail up after a while to admire the different dark blue hues of his tail. Dark was probably an understatement, but compared to other merfolk, his scales were duller and much less bright, but without a doubt still a brilliant sapphire in color. Such a waste. He put his tail down and glanced his eyes over to his long braided hair floating beside him, watching it sway ever so slighlty with the subtle ocean currents. Such a waste. He moved his eyes back to stare out into the open ocean above him, thinking of anything besides his still throbbing headache. The more he thought, the less there seemed to think about. And soon he could think of nothing. He was so... bored.
