Accounts + Activity
For every character you have, create a separate account. Avatars should be 150x150 and signatures should be no bigger than 500x200, and neither should be animated. There is a character limit of four. While sometimes real life has a knack for getting in the way, try to stay active. Daily role playing is encouraged and rewarded through progression. If you do not post with a character for a week without posting in the member status forum, that character will be archived. Set your account's display name to your character's first and last name with proper capitalization. All that said, don't play more characters than you can handle, or you'll be asked to remove ones played less.
Quality + Quantity
The general rule for most sites, as well as here, is quality over quantity. Write what you feel comfortable with length-wise. If you only like doing two or three paragraphs, that's fine. If you like walls, that's fine too. Let it come naturally. There is no word count, so don't worry about that, as long as you don't post too little. Make sure your post is not pure reaction to the previous post. Give your partner something to build on. Shake things up by adding action.
Powerplaying + Metagaming
The dreaded words had to be mentioned eventually, right? Of course they did. Powerplaying, also known as godmodding, is when you control the actions or dialogue of another person. Metagaming is when your character suddenly has information not accessible to them because you yourself have it. These aren't cool to do, so try not to and everything will be good. If you want to do something to another character in a post of yours that has an action after it, just ask the other player if it is okay. If you can't, end with the action about to happen, which will the give proper reaction time.
Relationships + Interaction
Platonic and romantic interactions are both heavily encouraged because it helps a character develop. If things get too heated between people, take it to private message or fade to black. On the other side of it, fighting is something that will occur as well, whether between characters or monsters that appear from time to time. There is no official combat system or stats to track, but no one is invincible and should know their character's strengths and weaknesses before engaging in a fight.
Time + Technology
The passage of time is something to be aware of. People grow older, feelings change... it's a natural part of life. There is no official time system to monitor this passage. That doesn't mean the seasons won't change or anything - it just means that time will change based on storyline progression. On to the technology bit... in Ilusia, cameras and radios are a really cool thing, and lanterns are the primary source of light. Running water is something that people appreciate greatly. If you need to travel, you go on foot or by horse. If you compare it to Heim, it is extremely archaic. If you have a question on a particular thing to see whether it is available or not, just ask.
