There is little to no way to sum up Shiek in only one word, or even a few. Some have called him brilliant because of his schooling while others argue that sometimes he's a little dense. When around people he isn't familiar with a smile is often flashed. His friends are likely to get the same smile but perhaps he will work into how he's really feeling that day. Only the closest of kin have ever been known to get on the inside of this man. He's to himself and often likes that while he considers himself an 'open book,' the pages are blank. He makes himself out to be a person who fancies others when really his favorite thing is to sit and simply listen to the nature around him.
Sarcasm and a good pun will never go ignored with Shiek. Those are often his verbal weapons of choice and he sticks by every decision he makes. Some he knows he will come to regret. The line between right and wrong is often very black and white to him, and he will take the 'right' decision over the 'wrong' decision regardless of who agress or disagrees with him.
He's been called a traitor on more than one occasion but often argues that he was betrayed first. A dark and sullied past of mixed decisions and rough patches aside, Shiek makes sure that he views life in a very positive light. He makes sure to keep a smile on his face and keep the jokes running; it's his way of dealing with the monster of regret that has formed over the past few hundred years of his life. He is easy to get along with and perhaps even easier to be trusted. He often plays the role in other's lives as the Uncle or Big Brother that they never had; never once hoping that he can take on the role of a father. That role scares the life out of him.
Aside from that, he can't lie to save his life. When he does end up having to lie, he often sweats horribly and laughs at himself; along with the smallest of things that others wouldn't even dream to giggle about. He blames his heritage of being an elf, often making up the excuse that older elves can't lie, but truly he knows it is his own weakness.
Overall and fun guy who doesn't mind sitting on the sidelines and watching others have fun than jumping in himself. He likes to observe others and strategize rather than getting his own feet wet.

Though born and raised in Hiem's capital city with miscellaneous odd jobs around the castle and a knack for writing and magic, he grew up a relatively normal young elf within the castle walls. His family served the kingdom in many ways. His father being a knight and his mother a maid, it only felt right that the young man take up the job as their recorder. He had no idea the mess it would land him in.
Shiek has never seen a fierce battle face to face, only had it described to him in detail to keep down in records. Back before the war and take over, he had moved himself up to the 'rank' of lead record keeper for the country of Hiem. When the idea of war came to the ears of the council, Shiek shared that he didn't think it a wise decision to turn against the other countries. The peace between them all was settled and he argued that it should be left as it was. None seemed to agree with him, all saying that the country of Hiem deserved more and had plenty of military and technological advantages; basically, that it would be an easy battle.
Seeing that they wouldn't see eye to eye with him, also realizing that he wouldn't be kept alive if he took record of such events, Shiek made his way out of Hiem. He made sure to stay out of the way of the war between Ilusia and Hiem for the time being. Once the war had ended though, Shiek made his way into Ilusia and got a first look of how the country functioned. Though not born with the name Shiek, he picked it up along his travels as a safe way to keep his and the kingdom's secrets. One could say he was hunted down, others could say he turned tail and hid from death. He would argue that he valued life far more than death and would prefer to keep his head.
After everything seemed to settle down Shiek continued to research one of his favorite things, magic. He can use a range of magic and has been practicing for hundred of years. Light magic is what he fancies, though of the healing sort. He prides himself in his use of magic and of his understanding on the subject. Though it is still a loose idea to those around him, Shiek thinks that he has found some of the secrets and yet knows that there are still many other things to be uncovered about the subject.
Currently he does odd jobs around town to make ends meet. Being a scholar on magic, some actually pay him for his opinion. He's become well known among those who are as addicted to magic as he is; and to those who want to know the weaknesses of magic in order to get around it in battle. He happily keeps a low profile in the city of Asgard as a scholar, and most nobody knows of him as his past identity as the records keeper. In fact, he makes sure his old name is never uttered.
