Well, poor Gideon. Seriously, poor him, his personality is a bit...iffy. Gideon isn't the best at social situations, crowds are a big problem for him but he's trying his best to get used to it. Generally he is an extreme introvert. As a rather reserved young man, much unlike the people in which he spends most of his time with, he never initiates conversation. Nearly everyone has to start talking to him first almost all the time. There is that once in a blue moon though. By now it should be easy to guess he doesn't have many close friends, or does he? He's very negative about his social situation as of the moment. But he doesn't really like to think about that much. It's accepted that most of society will never like him as he is now.
It would be acceptable for him to have low-self confidence. But actually he quite likes the company of himself. He doesn't torture himself about his flaws or plant his thoughts on what he's good at.In truth the reason why he's so nervous and just plain awkward around people is because he is desperate to please them, which does the opposite most of the time. If you do know him well enough he's just a loser nerd about everything. AND, that he has great ambitions for himself. Gideon is guy for the long-term, and he's far-sighted.
He is a nerd though. Reading is a hobby for him, and magic too! Yes, magic is really wonderful! Right now he isn't very good, but he will get better! Since his height is starting to increase he hopes that his proficiency at all types of magic and stuff will too! He thinks he'll be most enchanted by Earth element spells, since nature can just be so beautiful to him.

Gideon doesn't have much of a family life. This was the situation right from the very start, as from a young age he was sent away from his home in Avalon to live with his independent, older, much more attractive brother in Meridell. The boy does have very good memory, but this was when he was too young to even remember his home or what his mother and father looked like! His parents don't even send him letters! And no one will tell him why!
He found friends in Meridell which was good, but there weren't a lot of people his own age he got along with. Most others were excited and childish, while Gideon was already growing into his quietness and love of just "knowing". Sometimes he got bullied, but that was okay. It was really obvious that he was different. He read a lot of books, on some days he even reads until he falls asleep. These habits of not sleeping started when he was about 8, notice the eye bags he has now.
Books have had much influence on his life. Gideon can just feel that he was meant to be a wizard like the ones he read about. He often finds himself in daydreams, of how he'll be the most powerful wizard in the world! There'll be cool powers, the sense of being needed, and respected! That will be great.
