Griffen is a rather straightforward person and that’s all he wants from life in return. He both finds interest and annoyance in other human beings, not quite sure if he actually wants to know more about other people or if he just wants to write off the rest of the world as people he can ignore. A blunt word from Griffen is not uncommon, nor should it ever be taken too directly at heart. He is a person that means well, but only if one doesn’t take his words too seriously. Likewise, his grumpy demeanor is normally just up because he doesn’t realize he’s acting that way.
As Griffen is straightforward with his words, he can be a bit mysterious with the emotional side, confusing a lot of people right off the bat. Does he hate you? Does he not? Griffen is one of those people where you can’t tell from one visit. While Griffen doesn’t typically come across as fun-loving, he’s quite laid-back and relaxed, making him flexible with people even if he doesn’t like them. All in all, it’s more of an experiment trying to see if Griffen wants to hang around you.

The birth of Griffen dealt with an affair between a human woman and an elf who were a little too young and wild to actually be thinking about the consequences of their night. Even with the mix between the two races, Griffen still managed to inherit most of his father's traits. In fact, if it hadn't been made public to the community of Avalon, there would have been a good chance that he could have gone on with his merry life of being pure elf.
But that's not how life works. Word went quick that the newest addition to the city was a child that was the production of a human tourist and his disgrace of a father. Griffen never thought much about it. Even with others teasing him, he was able to shrug it off. After all, who was he to take what other people said to heart? Wouldn't that mean that he actually cared about his opinion? Well, quite possibly. Griffen knew he would have to work harder than the others if he wanted to prove himself. In the end, he decided the best course of action was to take a job in something he loved - cartography.
It was a job that gave him a good amount to do. His subject? Ilusia. Thankfully, he was alive around a major shift in power. And a major shift in power typically meant that locations would shift with it. As horrific as the night was, it provided him with plenty to work with. Though, lately, Griffen has been taking up architecture as well.
