"Disappointing, but at least we can avoid spending too much time out in the elements this way." Getting up here wasn't as difficult as expected, but getting down would be trickier with all this rain. Xara peered back at where they had just climbed up from, then started to glance around to try and find an easier spot to climb down from. "Strange that the sound could reach as far as here, but not sound any different." Opening up the parasol once more, she made a beeline towards the princess and the... What position did this Aldebaran hold, anyway? She couldn't tell just from the way he was dressed, but it couldn't be too low if he knew enough to behave as he did. Either way, keeping the two of them covered for at least as long as they remained up here was only appropriate. The maid gave him an approving nod before turning to Lycoris. "I can prepare something warm to eat and drink once we return. Should I climb down first and be ready to catch anyone, or climb last and keep everyone... Relatively shielded from the rain?"★ lycoris sotiris, aldebaran bates ★ we can do it we can do it we're playing violin we can do it

The coat, despite knowing it would be freezing by the time they returned to the inn, was taken with a quiet 'thank you.' Letting Xara down first for safety reasons worked well. The trip back took over half an hour due to the storm raging around them, and there were a few near-slips that almost ended up with a face full of mud, but in the end nothing too extraordinary happened. ...well... besides that moon glowing ominously and that sound, of course. It did stop before they reached the inn. As soon as they did, Lycoris excused herself quickly to head up to her room and change. A quick shower to warm up would give Xara time to prepare things. Sighing, she curled herself into the hot water and kept her head down, watching the liquid disappear into the drain. Her mind raced, tugging at her in so many different directions. What was that sound? Why was the moon like this? What was going on? Questions without answers. Thinking on it for too long wouldn't change things. Shaking her head, she dried off quickly and slipped into a more comfortable evening gown. Satisfied, the brunette slipped back into the kitchen and moved to sit at the counter. Because the dining room would be cold. Fighting back a snort, she turned her attention to Aldebaran. "How long have you been in Ilusia? Is Asgard a place you are new to or is it your home?"★ xara raihan, aldebaran bates ★ aldebaran can have the violin to appease his annoyance

Returning to civilization after a fruitless venture was not so disappointing. The storm ended before they reached the inn, but they were already thoroughly battered, and it was a relief to be out of the damp and the cold. He was quite a bit muddier than he was the last time this happened, and after a moment of deliberation, he removed his shoes. He did not want to trouble the innkeepers by tracking dirt everywhere. Once he was as cleaned up as he could be, he ended up in the kitchen, of all places, with Princess Lycoris. By now, he was quite assured that she and Xara were real people. To say he felt more comfortable in her presence, however, would be a half truth, and therefore not a truth at all. "I am a native of Heim. I came to Asgard several years ago, but I consider it my home now," he said. He was not in the habit of lying, even though his status of a Heimite caused him some trouble when he first arrived. If anything was said about him these days, he would rather not hear it. ★ I don't understand that reference D:

Xara's clothes definitely weren't in any condition for her to be seen among proper company anytime soon. It would take quite a bit of work to get the princess' clothes cleaned as well, but it wasn't anything she couldn't handle given enough time. Besides, cleaning that up could wait until after everyone was warmed back up and settled in. Aldebaran seemed trustworthy enough, so there wasn't any reason to be too wary of him at the moment. After drying her head off with a towel and changing into one of her identical uniforms, the maid went straight to the kitchen and began preparing the tea. It was one of the few drinks Xara could prepare well, and it was quick enough to prepare that she had everything just about ready by the time everyone was back inside the room. "I'm afraid I couldn't find any of those tiny coasters." Xara set a cup of peach tea in front of Lycoris, then several small pots of assorted tea along the counter with some milk and sugar. She wasn't sure what Aldebaran preferred, but it was too late to ask now without making it awkward. The questions... That would be better left for the princess to ask instead of her. ★ lycoris sotiris, aldebaran bates ★ kill the butterfly SMASH THE BUTTERFLY

"I have been here for only a few weeks, yet I find myself already feeling homesick and longing for some of the things that can be found there." Lycoris bit back a sigh, knowing that it would do her no good to feel down about such things. She would return when she completed her task and then find herself missing a few things from here as well. The sentimentalist in her would eventually disappear with age and life experience, wouldn't it? One could only hope. Taking the cup containing the peach tea, Lycoris nursed it carefully. Feeling the warmth spread through her was one of the most comforting feelings in the entire world at that moment. Give her a nice fluffy bed (that was waiting for her upstairs) and a fire burning lowly, and she'd be set for the rest of the night. "What do you do here in Asgard?" One hand was waved towards Xara, signaling to her to sit. She might as well enjoy the tea prepared and get warm too. Small talk. All things considering, she should be better with this sort of thing. With some people it was easy, but with Aldebaran... she wasn't sure why, but it reminded her of when she was a child and wanted to impress the adults. It had been a long time since she felt this way. ★ xara raihan, aldebaran bates ★ there was a violin mentioned, so that's all I know too <3

Finding those coasters would need to wait. Xara took a seat at the table and peered at the nearly identical pots of tea, furrowing her brow after a moment. Which one was which again? The one next to Lycoris had to be the peach tea, but the black and the green and that other one with the confusing name... Well, it didn't matter too much to Xara, anyway. She picked up a random pot and poured a bit into her cup, then put it back to do the same with each pot in succession. Having just one tea got boring after a while, but mixing them up made things taste slightly better! If only it wasn't just all tea in the end. It was amusing the watch the princess and their guest engage in small talk, and the maid made no effort to actually steer the conversation towards anything in particular. The girl needed experience in speaking to people, anyway, so interrupting now would just be a setback. ★ lycoris sotiris, aldebaran bates ★ does nobody remember home movies D:

R E V E L A T I O N A Mysterious Melody Shortly after midnight, the noise begins to fade away. The air feels heavy with magic and the storm continues to brew until the moon sets for the night.
Something strange is located at the front desk. A book that should not be there, radiating with strange energy of its own. Most of the pages are blank. A piece of paper falls out of the book. There are six lines written on it and the parchment is old, nearly crumbling. Only one line can be read.
