Mayrah is a lot like her name sake, the wind. She is strong and gentle but can be a bit unpredictable and spontaneous. She prefers to take her own path to reach her goal, though it may not be the most efficient or correct path. It doesn't help that she tends to be very stubborn about her choices and she won't hear of changing how she wishes to do something.
She is a hard worker, always sure to pull her own weight and never slacking off. She doesn't like when others cater to her simply because she is a girl, though her shortness tends to leave her at somewhat of a disadvantage around the farm. She does tend to take on more than she can chew though which can sometimes put her in a position that she isn't much help, much to her personal frustration. She takes her failures very seriously and is a harsh judge on herself. She can see her shortcomings and the fact that she can't seem to fix them bothers her endlessly.
She is very protective of her home and her family and has a hard time opening up to new people. She has been known to say cruel things just as an attempt to keep people away from her home and to keep them from trying to get close to her or her family. The only exceptions to this are people her parents deem as friends. She is hard to get to open up but once she does open up, she is a bright and gentle girl who will help out whenever she can.
She does have a weak spot for those that are in need of her help as she tends to have a very motherly nature. It's not uncommon for her to nurture animals, and (on very rare occasions) a human being.

Mayrah was born on her parent's Crystal Coast farm. She led a pretty normal childhood, except for learning the layout of the farm. Her parents were strict enough but Mayrah had a natural farm instinct. She enjoyed tagging along behind her father when he went about his tasks. More than once her mother couldn't find the young toddler and bordered on panic before finding the little girl watching her father milk a cow.
She has always had a love of the animals and naturally she's grown a nurturing nature because of them. When she was 12, she really began helping out around the farm and the house. She learned how to cook from her mother and learned how to help a sick animal in the barn by her father.
When she turned 13, she was allowed to adopt her own pet. Mayrah didn't go out to find a pet though. Her parents pestered her about this. She had been begging for the chance to get a pet since she was 10 and now that she could, she wasn't actively getting one. She just said that she wanted to see what happened along.
A few months later, her father caught a fox in the hen house. Mayrah knew what needed to be done and though it always hurt her to know that she should try to save it. This time she had the opportunity to do something. The fox had a young kit that she had hid away close by and when Mayrah went away from the hen house, where her father would handle the fox, she heard it's cries.
She brought it to the house and proclaimed that this was her new pet. Both her parents didn't want to go for it but eventually, they relented and Mayrah kept her baby fox, Orin. She raised and cared for Orin and he grew into a very great asset around the farm. His continued presence kept foxes from appearing at the hen house so much and he was even a good mouse catcher.
The young teen was happy. She had her home, her family and her best friend. Then he appeared. She remembered it very clearly. She and her mother had been cooking dinner for four. Mayrah had figured it was a friend from Asgard or the Inn. Instead, it was a boy who looked around her age. She wasn't quite sure how to handle this complete stranger but she figured if her parents were friendly to him, he had to be a good guy.
But then her father began talking about his living arrangements. Mayrah instantly asked what was going on and received her answer. Her father hired him to help around the farm. He said it was because he thought it would be a good idea to let Mayrah go out and experience the world and find out if this was the life she wanted for herself and that he would need the help while she was gone.
She instantly retaliated that she didn't want to leave home and that she would never accept this stranger as a part of their home. She shut herself in her room with Orin for the rest of that night. Ever since, she has gone out of her way to either avoid the new help or to sabotage his efforts by giving him false information. For a moment, she wasn't put in charge of dinner just because she would never make enough for him.
But for some reason, the guy never seemed to falter. This only fueled her though. He wasn't going to take her home from her. She wouldn't stand for that!
