Working in an inn, you heard rumors - and when an annoyed beastman had spent ten minutes ranting at Theris about a woman weeping inside a cave while Theris had desperately been trying to get him to sign the damn sign-in sheet, something inside him had come to a resolution. The next day, he worked the morning and afternoon shifts back to back, spoke to and got permission from his bosses (just in case he died in the mountains), and made the trip up after he got off of work. It was exhausting, and although he'd brought water and food, Theris found himself constantly stopping to rest. It was dark by the time he reached the cave, and the small lantern he had brought with him cast only a small glow. According to his directions, he was in the right place, but Theris had no way to be sure. He sat down outside the entrance, taking a little while to catch his breath. ★ investigating!

To his amazement, Caleb's father hadn't told him that they were setting off yet. In fact, the man who seemed to have no marbles or sanity, had actually said that they would be staying a little longer. Course, Caleb thought this was most likely due to the recent storm and the green full moon. Although he wasn't entirely sure about what was going on, he decided that maybe he could keep himself busy by learning about it.
After all, his father didn't say that he couldn't go exploring now did he? Course not! Caleb wasn't sure how he ended up coming all the way out here. He remembered asking some people at the tavern when he was with his father if they knew anything. Sure enough, they told him a few things. About a woman weeping in a cave along with the things he already knew. So, he came to the conclusion to look into it.
Somehow, he made it all this way despite his bad leg. Although, he had stopped many times due to the pain and the fact that he had gone so far. Yes, he had brought food and water in the a small bag that he had slung over his shoulder and his back. To his surprise after a while, he caught sight of a cave but that wasn't it. A person was there.
"Hello." Caleb greeted, a little out of breath.

Holly didn't feel quite right after the night of the strange noise. She would wake up in the middle of the night hearing it, fading back into her dreamworld. The next few minutes would be spent looking at the green moon before she ventured back to bed where the sound would float lazily in the back of her mind. And then the rumors began. That of the cry of a weeping woman at Garmon Cave. At first, Holly paid no mind to it. But as they continued... She just wanted to know what was happening to the land that she thought she knew like the back of her hand. Shoving her shift onto Wynter and giving a quick note to her mother didn't take her much time at all. There was little time for debate and then she was off with a canteen with water and a lantern, no need for much else on a trip that wasn't going to take her long. As opposed to the two she managed to stumble across when reaching the cave, she was probably in the better shape and she hadn't stopped since she left the inn. So seeing the two as she got up there out of breath, she could honestly say that she was a little more worried than she should have been, though she didn't voice it immediately. "Theris?" She raised an eyebrow. What was he doing up there? Her gaze flicked to the other man. "Are you two alright? Or are you here for..." Her words trailed off as she gestured with her lantern over to the cave opening. ★ hey, i wanna do this. but i'm too lazy to make a thread, hello people

When Theris heard footsteps, he got to his feet. Strangely, they weren't from within the cave, as he might have expected. He shrunk back against the mouth of the cave, tensing up, ready to run or fend off bandits or... something. Instead... " Hello," he said hesitantly to Caleb. And then, even more of a surprise - but also a relief - " Holly?" Had she followed him up there? " I..." How was he supposed to answer that question? " ...I wanted to see... what was going on." ★ whoa, this got people fast

Caleb wasn't completely surprised to see others out here. After all, the strange events were only getting stranger and people did want answers to them. So, they would eventually decided to investigate.
"I'm okay." Caleb said. "Are you two?"
He stood there quietly as he watched Holly point to the cave entrance. Maybe she was investigating as well. There was a good chance of it.
"If you mean investigating the rumors then, yes." Caleb answered. "You two as well?"
(ooc: Sorry for it being short)

"Yes, I'm here to see just what is making the noise," she nodded, stuffing one hand in her pocket while the other clutched the lantern tighter. "And I'm fine. Really, do I look like I'm in rough shape?" Her tone was light and conversational, continuing past the surprise of finding one of her fellow coworkers and another man at the destination she had decided on. As well as passing over the slight nerves that followed her to the cave. She raised an eyebrow at Theris, briefly, wondering why he had so many gaps in speech. Either she had really surprised him or he was feeling bad again, like the first time they had met. She switched her gaze over to the other man, not recalling a name or his face. It wasn't a shock to not know somebody in Asgard, though. Gesturing back over to the cave, she tilted her head. "Well, since we're all here to do the same thing, might as well explore together, hmm? Oh and, by the way, my name's Holly Devanti," she swiftly introduced herself, giving a respectful nod of the head before taking a few more steps towards the entrance of the cave. ★ you stole my idea, luri. that's why D< ... c:

He bowed formally to Caleb. " Theris Lysander." Two of them, at the minimum, had lanterns. That should be enough. He certainly hadn't planned on company, and - if he were completely honest with himself - would have preferred to be alone. Holly, he had learned, was hopelessly clumsy, although he knew she was trustworthy. He didn't know anything about the other man, who might turn out to be either useful or useless. " If we're all going in, then we should stay together." If anything happened to Holly, he'd never be able to show his face in Ilusia again, he knew that much. Nodding, he entered the cave. ★ ~

"I'm Caleb Vervain." Caleb said to both of them as he bowed as well.
Once he was standing up straight again, his gaze was returned to them. Being in a group is better than being alone. After all, if something happened one of them could go get help and they wouldn't have to leave the person that was injured here alone.
"Sure." Caleb said as he headed in after the two.

While she had been the one to suggest going in as a group, she wondered if that's what she had wanted in the first place. Sure, groups allowed for more safety, both in numbers and if someone was injured, there was a greater chance to help. But groups also meant prying eyes, secrets kept, and lies told as possibilities. The thought hardly crossed Holly's mind on the more negative assumptions; however, she knew how easily it was to not make a fool of herself in front of no one. Upon entering the cave, the musty, damp aroma overwhelmed her and darkness enveloped around them, the lanterns being the only sources of shields from the black. Whatever the sound was, it wasn't happening then. When did they say it usually did anything? She wanted to guess midnight or, at least, night. That was the thing about rumors-- why did they always have to happen at night or midnight? Why couldn't they just come at noon or something more convenient? "I've actually never been into Garmon Cave past this point. There was always something... eerie about it. Gave me shivers, right?" She mused aloud, moving her lantern around to get a better look. ★ I am SOOO SO SORRY

He held his lantern high, moving to a wall on the left and reaching out to touch it with one gloved hand. The image of being lost in a labyrinth came to his mind, although he didn't know if the cave was somewhat of a maze or not. Either way, he didn't plan on getting lost. " I can see why." This wasn't exactly somewhere he'd go on vacation. " How deep does it go?" ★ all good!

"Most likely a good deal deep, most old caves do." Caleb said as he entered and looked around.
True, he hadn't been to this cave before. But he had been in some caves before due to when his father's ship was docked into port, he was able to explore a bit. There were times he had found caves and asked the local's about them. Most of them were rather deep according to them. Course, he never been in this cave before.
