Caleb is kind and caring, holding manners to go with his good nature. He shows respect and is always willing to lend a hand. Although, he can be seen as bit more on the challenging side when it comes to his father; who is a Captain of a ship. Although he has no hatred to his father, one might think that when Caleb is yelling at his father when out on sea or in simple occasions; course his father is really strange in terms of behavior and many people think the man is drunk, so you can't really blame Caleb.
Caleb thinks things through and is a fast thinker. Although he may not be quick to take charge, he does try to convince the person in charge to do their job. He's nowhere near a bad guy, but his self confidence is low. While he believes in others and is willing to cheer them on, he seems to have none of this for himself. He stands by those he cares for and is a loyal friend and family member in the end. He's often submissive to his older brothers.
He takes time to hear both people's side of the story before making a judgement. He also doesn't judge people based on appearances, he judges others by how they treat others. He's willing though to give out second chances and he's also rather forgiving.

Caleb was the third born in his family, making him the youngest. While his older brothers are perfect sailor material, Caleb is the opposite. Being of a skinnier build and seeming to be able to put little to no muscle on as well. Caleb spent much of his life on his father's ship more than land like the rest of his family.
Born with a bad leg, it's part of the source for Caleb's low confidence but it's also part of his drive to help others. His brothers make up the rest of the reason for his low confidence. Often teasing him due to him for his thinner build, bad leg, and almost frail like appearance. That and he also is a screw up on the ship sometimes as well as keeping his face hidden in a book when there is nothing to do on the ship; meaning he's not needed.
While his brothers give him misery, his father does in a unintentional way. His father is strange, often appearing to be drunk even though he hardly ever drinks. Caleb's brothers really don't seem to care since it's always Caleb himself that is stopping their father from doing something insane that could cost them all their lives or just their father's life. He cares for his family despite all it's ups and downs, and he does wonder why his mother decided to stay on land all the time after he turned fifteen; leaving him with the misery givers as Caleb often dubs them.
