AAilonwy did watch with open curiosity as Briar reassured her it was not a difficult task. There was a slight relief, since she would have hated to mess up the process in some way. She was interested in trying to remove the crystal for herself, though. It seemed that Briar did not enjoy grueling work all that much. Her lips curled upwards in slight amusement, but she was not judging. Ailonwy did not enjoy tasks that involved a lot of physical labor, either. She would do such a task if it was asked of her, but she usually did not go out of her way to do one. The crystals out like this had to make them easier to extract, which Briar confirmed.
“Sounds simple enough,” she agreed with a slight smile. Her fingers curled around the silver tool being presented to her and she studied it closely. It did resemble a wine opener and that the opposite end could be adjusted to fit around the width of the crystal. Ailonwy watched as Briar slid her own tool around a crystal to pull it from the cave wall. There was no breakage and it was simple enough with the walls being less compact than other caves. Perhaps she could return here on her own to pluck a few crystals. She did not know how to make jewelry, but she would like to collect them for how lovely they were.
She mimicked Briar’s movements and fitted her own tool around a smaller topaz crystal. Her wrist twisted a few times and the crystal popped from the wall with little resistance. Ailonwy smiled brightly as she placed the crystal into her free hand. “Well, at least no other assistance was needed, then. This is rather enjoyable to do.” Ailonwy handed the tool back to Briar before placing the crystal in the trailing sleeves of her kimono top. | Tag: Briar~ Notes: I look forward to the attempt. -giggles- |

It was not often that she brought someone with her when she was looking for materials to make jewelry. Quite a few times she would run into others while she was out and conversation would strike up, but this was the first she had led another to one of her secret places. Perhaps it was that the other beastwoman, fairer in hair than she was, did not seem to pose much of a threat or give off that vibe so many did that she found frustrating. If anything, it was more enjoyable then she had imagined. "It's all part of what I do. I pride myself in my designs, so the very least I can do is gather the materials myself." Taking the took back, Briar slipped it into her bag. The crystal itself went into her basket, wrapped neatly. "That and it is easier to ensure you get what exactly you want."The risk of the stones getting broken wasn't one she wanted to take. The stones were precious and if handled correctly, could come out ranging from simple and charming to stunning. She never had to worry about lacking in anything to use. "So, tell me, what is it that you do?" Glancing back over her shoulder as she worked, Briar cast her amber eyes to the other. "Anything in particular for fun and amusement?" ★ ailonwy ★ oh, so will I >3

Ailonwy wondered how long Briar had been crafting jewelry of her own. Most likely for a long enough time, since she had a confidence that spoke of experience and comfort in what she did. It must be nice to have a craft to be adept at and to make a career out of. She could not really say she was jealous of Briar, but it felt that way somewhat. Amber eyes flickered back to the topaz crystals before her a little somberly. Ailonwy knew she should place herself out of her comfort zone more often. Her whole life had revolved around Volos for as long as she could remember. Had she ever been to any of the other locales of Illusia? No, not that she could recall, and she had not asked to travel beyond the borders of the village.
“Yes, often you find criticisms to make in work asked of another that is up to your standards,” she agreed. If one was not prepared to handle the possibility of mistakes, then it was better to do the work on their own terms. Ailonwy enjoyed the relative quiet of this cave and her current company. If she was not careful, then she would be sorely tempted to slip into a more meditative state to clear her thoughts. She did not have many crowding her mind at the moment at least. Instead she watched as Briar collected more of the crystals to place in her basket.
“No, I cannot say that I do. I enjoy singing or pressing flowers when spring comes. I do not venture much beyond the borders of Volos,” she replied with a wan smile. No, her life certainly did not encompass adventure or overall excitement. This was perhaps the most excitement she had experienced all season. Well, beyond that horrid storm her and Jamie had been caught in earlier in the spring. | Tag: Briar~ Notes: Now I am so curious. xD |
