never ending
MEREDITH A'LLYR THIRTY SIX WINTER QUEEN OF MERFOLK | HET 5 FEET 6 MERMAID SCORPIO |
personality
Meredith has two sides to her, a compassionate queen who is just and caring towards her subjects and a dark violent individual who thirsts for nothing more than vengeance. Traumatic events in her life has split her so.
The persona which she projects towards those beneath the surface is gentle and maternal. The ideal queen, she rules Lemuria with both authority and righteousness. She is friendly, courteous and polite towards her citizens and loves each and every one of them with equal fervour. Her vehement and passionate personality fuels her determination to reach her goals, no matter how small. If she applies herself, she would be resolute, persistent and persevering.
Meredith does not discriminate between specific individuals, only races: merfolk are treated with respect; humans, elves, and faeries with indifference; and beastmen with poisonous hatred.
Should the queen by wronged in anyway, her vindictive streak would be revealed and all debts would be forcibly replayed, one way or another. Temperamental, violence is easily sparked within her, where she reveals a dark aura of sadism. Fortunately (or unfortunately) her most sadistic wrath is reserved only for beastmen. When Meredith visits the surface, it was always with caution and distrust, although her outward demeanour may suggest otherwise. This is attributed to the fact that the queen is a great actor, with the capacity to feign any emotion with inhuman skill to the point that even the shrewdest people cannot detect her true nature.
Not to mention that Meredith isn't exactly a stable individual. Prone to bouts of depression and near insanity, she possesses and unpredictable nature and is quite contradicting in her actions – feeling happiness one minute and explosive rage in another.

history
As a child, Meredith was a naturally perceptive and observant individual, bearing a talent for intuition. She met Lemuria's prince in her adolescence and the two quickly fell for each other. With their tails intertwined and their hands caressing the other's, their love was unmatched and nothing could pull them apart for long - it was a sublime underwater Romeo and Juliet. The wedding occurred when they reached maturity and the royal child came not long after. For the next decade, everything was perfect. The royal family ruled just and was respected and loved by their subjects. Happiness flourished. Everyone could see it becoming a typical happy ever after.
But happy endings don't exist in reality and fate struck the A'llyr family.
Meredith had always been aware of Quincy's lack of childhood innocence and seemed to have possessed great maturity since infancy. Along with her significant other, she was concerned over the fact that he never expressed much interest in his peers and sought to encourage him to play with other children. It was to her delight when he finally shared a common interest with other children: the Surface. And she would never realise that he had discovered and became friends with a filthy surface-dwelling beastman which ultimately lead to a tragedy.
Meredith wasn't present when she lost her beloved. A part of her heart died with him that day. She experienced the existence of tears when she rose out of the surface to personally witness the atrocities committed at the shore. One glance at the mangled corpse of the once great and noble King of Merfolk and Meredith lashed out in a mad rage nobody would have ever expected from the angelic queen. If she wasn't restrained by her bodyguards, the cracked mermaid would've crawled out of the ocean to exterminate her husband's slayer.
Queen Meredith was never the same again.
