She was up with the sun today and down in the kitchen before anyone else. For a moment she debated making pancakes and eggs to prove that, yes, she did pay attention when people taught her things, but decided on going for cereal and juice. Her stomach felt like it was twisting itself in knots, so waiting until food was prepared would just make it that much worse. Another day in the near future could be spent making food for a certain inn keeper's son, or apprentice blacksmith, or whatever title he felt like going by that day. With breakfast complete, Lycoris wrote down a quick note requesting her tea be cancelled this morning, as she planned to step out of the inn earlier than she usually did. By the time she returned, it was nearing the noon hours. Quite a few bags were balanced in her arms, threatening to spill the contents at any moment. She made a beeline for her personal chamber and managed to get the door open without dropping anything on the ground. Minor successes were taken where she could get them. The princess let out a soft sound when the bags did spill once she reached her bed. Well, whatever. At least it wasn't the floor. Rummaging through the newly acquired items, it was obvious it didn't take her that much time to pick them up. A few maps, new clothes, books detailing Volos and Meridell, some snacks... so what did she do with the rest of her time out there? Judging by the way she smelled of the ocean and her hair was damp, that didn't take much thought to answer. "Adell? Xara? May I request your presence?" A knock on the door near her own was followed by her retreating back to her room. She left the door open in an invitation, moving back to the bed. Getting some solid plans to follow through with would help all three of them. ★ adell windsor, xara raihan ★ woo, progress!

What was that noise? Wait... Was it noon already? Xara winced slightly as she forced herself out of her bed for the third time, having returned to it several times just to rest for a few more minutes. There had to be something in the ale around here that made it so damn strong. Perhaps the villagers were already starting to plot against them? It would be too obvious if they did it through poisoning food, but if it was through something as innocent as alcohol, then who could really catch them? Thankfully, there wasn't much for her to do this morning compared to the others. Not having to make tea certainly presented fewer hazards to the maid (and everyone else) while she was nursing her hangover, giving her ample time to get her morning cleaning done and nap for a few more hours. By the time she woke up for the last time... Well, her head still hurt and her eyes were barely staying open. Her uniform was kept in decent shape, at least, and her clothes from the night before were already folded and set aside for cleaning later. After making sure her clothes were in proper order and her hair wasn't flattened on any side, Xara took a deep breath before stepping into Lycoris' room with a slow curtsey. "Good morning, milady. Is everything alright?" She took care not to move her head too quickly or speak too loudly, behaving in an almost eerily calm manner just to keep the headache under control. She peered at the collection of stuff scattered around the bed, but refrained from commenting just yet out of respect. Plus, she felt like she was going to fall over any second now. ★ adell windsor, lycoris sotiris ★ progress quest 98

There was a mixture of resignation and disappointment at Xara's sleeping habits this day. Maybe there was really no moral high ground in waking up early, but it was hard to have sympathy for the woman. If she kept her drinking in check, and went to sleep at a reasonable hour, she wouldn't have trouble waking up with the dawn, and staying up. Or maybe he should just be grateful that Xara hadn't attempted anything... untoward whilst inebriated. He shook his head free of that thought, and entered the room as bid. Adell gave a half-bow, and gave a similarly formal greeting, though his actions and words were far more natural than Xara's bizarre serenity. It wasn't odd in and of itself, he supposed, but it was strange seeing Xara act so deliberately. The various sundries Lycoris had spread across the bed were briefly examined, and Adell had a fairly good idea what this was regarding. It wasn't much, but it would be enough to travel for the days needed to go further afield. "Is this regarding the expedition to Meridell and Volos?" Adell hadn't thought it would take place so soon, and he hadn't gone out to discuss the matter with his only in with the beastpeople just yet. Something in him encouraged far more caution than was due, and it was a difficult block to get around. It seemed reason played a small role when it came to such things, in the end. ★ Lycoris & Xara ★ Quest; go to places, melt faces. Also short post because I want to beds.

"That it is, Adell. Xara, everything is just fine." With the young man knowing what things were about, it made the situation easier, as he had no qualms with it as far as she knew. "The two of us will be setting off for Meridell after the upcoming Festival of Lifae. Adell will be going to Volos at the same time. ...ah..."Lycoris looked up from the map unfolded on her bed, jade eyes growing thoughtful. "Adell, have you invited that girl, Briar, yet?" This time, the name wasn't said with such distaste. Trying to be cordial would be a good thing for her to do. Besides, her mood regarding the entire festival increased drastically due to one single thing that happened. "Fayt asked if I would like to go with him to it as well, so if you are attending it with Briar... mm..."What about Xara? Considering the maid, she might not have met a lot of people from Ilusia yet. As it was, it still surprised her that Adell had met someone he had any sort of interest in. Tipping her head to her side, the princess clapped her hands. "Xara, you are not the most traditional person I know. What if you asked Theris to attend the event with you?"★ adell windsor, xara raihan ★ short posts are not a bad thing at all as long as they give something to respond to >w<~

Keeping still was good. As long as she didn't move too quickly, speaking normally wouldn't be too much of a problem for Xara. Just in case, though, she inched her way towards a wall and kept her back to it. That would have to do until she had another opportunity to sleep off the hangover. "We'll be... Going separately, then?" There was a hint of worry in the maid's voice, and she took a moment to mull over what that could mean. Were they already strapped for time on this mission? Granted, they had been in Asgard for a while now, so hurrying it up wouldn't be out of the question. But to split up already? "...Ah. That reminds me." She wasn't expecting them to have met the beastwoman, but now would be as good a time as any to give them their gifts. Digging two small pouches out of her pockets, she took a few careful steps forward before holding them out: a necklace for Lycoris and a ring for Adell. "I met Miss Desiree a while ago and had her make these. Think of them-urk... Uh. Good luck charms. Or... Something."Forcing a chuckle to hide the fact that she puked her in her mouth just a bit, Xara take another moment to let her stomach settle before shrugging. "I hadn't considered it, but it couldn't hurt if you would prefer that I go. I was only planning to watch you two from a hiding place somewhere, anyway." Inviting Theris to such a thing didn't sound bad, but she didn't really know him all that well. Messing with Adell was one thing since she knew that he knew that she was just messing with him, but the same couldn't be said for anyone else. ★ adell windsor, lycoris sotiris ★ they're on a journey to find the brody

"I haven't had the opportunity to ask, yet." Well, he probably had plenty of opportunity, but he still hadn't been entirely sure if inviting her was the best idea. It was an idea, but now it seemed that Lycoris had made the decision on his behalf. He was a bit surprised that the innkeeper's son had extended an invitation, and that Lycoris had apparently accepted it. He knew that Ilusians were not too particular about formality and the like, but there was a massive gap between even Adell and Lycoris, to say nothing of the gap between an Ilusian commoner and the crown princess. Still, if Lycoris had deigned to accept the offer, he wasn't about to comment. Didn't mean he had to like it, however. The ring was something of a surprise. It was taken and examined with a raised eyebrow. "Er, my thanks, Xara." It was fairly well-made, from what he could tell. Maybe he should give his compliments to the jeweler. He wasn't much for jewelry and the like, but it wouldn't feel right to simply ignore the gift. Was there some occasion or something he had forgotten about...? "I think you should attend, as well. It would be a good way to mingle with the locals, at least." At least having the appearance of being non-threatening would be a good thing, and alienating them would get them nowhere. "If you were planning on spying on us, anyway, you might as well have some food while you're at it."★ Lycoris & Xara ★ Great, now I have both Brodyquest and Go to Bed Quest stuck in my head.

She was getting rather paranoid as she got older, wasn't she? This was the only thing she could think of considering the first thing she did when the necklace was presented to her was to check it for magical enchantments. Nothing felt strange or off about it, so it must just be a regular piece of jewelry. It was pretty... still... why would a person she never knew give her a good luck charm of sorts? In Heim this wasn't such an uncommon thing, receiving presents from strangers, but here in Ilusia... Relax. It wasn't going to bite her. No need to be too worried and picky about it. With that in mind, Lycoris took the necklace and studied it closer. "I will have to thank her." The comment made was mostly towards herself. Yes, she would eventually see this Briar beastwoman, and finally have the opportunity to size her up properly. "Spying would be a waste of the day. We will attend the festival and prepare to leave after it. Adell, if you would like to request Briar's assistance in Volos, doing so soon would be in your best interest." The general plan was in mind. Releasing a small breath, she clapped her hands together. "That is that. Prepare your things in case we do not return to Asgard."★ adell windsor, xara raihan ★ why not go to bed with brody journey? (also, this can end the thread, since festival is up c:)
