BLOOMING LOTUS
FENDEL ORENZ SIXTEEN WINTER N/A | HETEROSEXUAL FIVE EIGHT BEASTMAN (LIGER) CAPRICORN |
personality
Fendel seems pretty much like a ditz at first, not getting messages thoroughly or letting logic get in his way. He's a pretty cheerful, positive character that's easily excitable. He's blessed with natural curiosity, and enough drive to get to it. But, he boasts a rash nature that follows his positivity and cheerfulness, being straight-forward enough to set aside all worries regarding important subjects. He often says "Things will turn out fine!". Fendel doesn't tend to care for other people's will when it comes to his own decisions, only considering their needs rather opinions. It's not impossible for him though, just a force of habit. Overall however, his positive calmness is the most prominent traits he shows.
Fendel is heavily impacted by doubt. He developed several ideologies as a person that he thinks should be followed. His doubt in the war's justification is part of those. Fendel is rather selfish and greedy, but he's also quite the friendly individual. He holds honor over reason, a trait that could go for better or worse in some situations. It is to say, obviously, he packs some confidence and pride that disallows him to show any signs of doubt or succumbing to others' manipulations. A rebel, you could say. Making friends with him is fairly easy, picking fights is rather hard -- as he doesn't seem to be too offended by anything concerning himself or his ideologies. Fendel's weakpoint however, lies in those dear to him; badmouthing those results in anger he keeps suppressed almost all the time. He can turn very violent, opposed to his usual demeanor, if tempted enough.
Strangely, nothing seems to surprise him. Not over the top, at least. Rest assured, he's a man of his word; he'll keep promises, as carefree or unreliable as the man seems after some introductions. Devotion is a strong, dear trait for him. It's a good base for respect, after all.

history
Fendel was born as a resident in Volos to two happy parents, as a part of an identical triplet. Fendel was the first to come out. Triplets are, however, hard to give birth to, and the youngest of the trio was born with a weak body with a tendency to attract bacteria - sickness. The two older brothers saw in him a thing to protect.
Fendel was always a rather straight-forward, curious kid. Being born in Volos obviously meant he was taught resentment towards the Merfolk and the never ending war between the two races, yet he refused to go about fighting a battle for nothing more than, as twisted a phrase it is for this, 'tradition'. Therefore, the boy often found himself asking everybody why are the Merfolk hated and why he should show hatred; after all, they have done nothing to him or his family. And the lack of answer, together with his spontaneous nature, drives him to go search for it himself. When he was old enough Fendel carelessly left Volos one day, leaving his twin brothers alone, to go explore about the whole deal.
Through his journey, disappearing one night, Fendel found himself encountering many creatures and people, including the Thief King of Fairmist. Cen desert came after he had got down from the mountain, which was incredibly harsh. If it weren't for the Elves who pitied the young Beastman, it's likely he would have died of starvation and heat. He asked them too, about the origin of the Merfolk-Beastmen conflict, but didn't get an answer. To repay, Fendel found himself working as the Elves' aid in a few labor tasks, before finally leaving after a month. This 'little trip' he had planned went completely wrong, he never planned for it to last this long. But having been gone for this long and getting this far, Fendel decided to at the very least finish his journey.
Eventually, he got to Crystal Coast, where he had waited for a few days, staying in the nearby town and spending the days waiting for a sign. A sole Merfolk trying to peek at land was enough for him, and he had found one. Their conversation was short, and was deprived of any significant information. Fendel returned empty-handed to Volos, punished greatly by the villagers for making them worry. He accepted it however, he did find something else in this journey; adventure, curiosity. He found Elves and Merfolk, there were many other creatures living out there. That's when he decided that, when he grows up, the Beastman would travel Adonea in search of his question's answer. Until then, he refused to show any resentment towards the enemy race, even if they would grudge him for naught.
Throughout the years, he had made friends in the village again, and took careful care of his sick brother. And now, finally maturing completely by sixteen, it was time to depart.
