Just why did her parents request that she and her sister come here? Why make them travel so far from home? Rhiannon often pondered these thoughts, especially when she was by herself. There was no one around. No one at all. The Whispering Woods were as silent as could be... Until the pluck of a harp string filled the silent night. When Rhiannon was frustrated about her situation, she'd go somewhere to be alone. This time she had brought her harp along. It had been a while since she had played, and even though she was alone, she was still hesitant to play. She had taken lessons since she was younger, so she knew how to play a few things, but it still made her a bit wary to play in front of others. With a deep sigh to relax herself, she began to pluck again. It's all right, she soothed herself, It's late and I'm the only one out here.Slowly, a melody started to pour from her lips as she began to sing and play at the same time. A song to soothe her wandering mind.

Twice now, within the same week, did Fayn the bard hear the soft singing of a feminine voice in his woods. This one, however, was accompanied by the delicate tinkling of a harp. As he listened quietly, he found himself slowly fading into a dreamlike trance. The song was so lovely, so like a lullaby. Not even he could resist, it seemed. And yet, he couldn't allow himself to sleep, not with the dull sense in the back of his mind that he somehow... know the voice. It sounded awfully similar to the other girl's, the one form before...and, much like the previous song, there was a certain woeful tone to it, despite its sweetness. Yet, even as sad as it was, the raw emotion and tender beauty of the song was beyond moving. He could almost feel his eyes watering, even as he sought out to find the talented harpist. Quiet treading led the crimson-haired man to a clearing - and, there upon a rock, sat the young maiden, playing her song and singing. Having heard some of the lyrics as being Elvish, he was a bit curious to know of her origin. She didn't have the appearance of an elf, but it was not uncommon for an individual to have shared parentage. Such a scenario could make her bilingual. That aside, he couldn't ignore the fact that he was presently in the company of a young lady who clearly was pouring out a well of emotion. At the very least, he could try to help her in some way. But, as before, he didn't want to frighten her any, and so as he stepped out into the light, he made sure to walk slowly, with his hands in clear view. He wasn't a threat - though with his wild appearance he wouldn't be surprised if some viewed him as such. "I heard you playing, miss." he said quietly, smiling at the girl. "You're very good. The harmony between you and the harp...it's incredible." His smile broadened. "Trust me, I play for a living, and...you really are quite good." Idly, Fayn wished he had brought his ukulele along. It would have been nice to share his appreciation for music, but he had his voice with him, at least. He could sing with her if he wanted. "I'm curious though, where did you learn that song? You're no elf...but you did a very good job pronouncing Mornie utulie and Mornie alantie." He inched closer to the girl, conscious of how much space he was giving her; she clearly thought she was alone when she was singing, and even Fayn knew enough to leave a girl space when she wanted it. "Oh. Eh...I'm sorry, seems I forgot the most important part of a greeting. My name is Fayn." He reached a hand to his chest and bowed cordially, rising with a cheesy smile on his face. "It's a pleasure to meet you, young miss."He waited patiently for the girl to respond, all the while taking in her appearance; she really did look quite similar to Cassandra....and her voice, it did resemble the girl's, too. But....maybe he was just imagining things. I'm sure I'll know soon enough. he thought to himself. ★ Rhiannon Arnell ★ Yet another music player? He might just try to form a band. XD
