Just what was going on with this situation? First, splitting up. Next, bringing along the innkeeper. Xara just couldn't wrap her head around what the princess was thinking sometimes, but she wasn't about to question her if she was determined to have him come along. Then again, having an extra body around to help with whatever happened wasn't a bad thing. Besides, he did seem to catch Lycoris' attention easily enough even after being in Asgard for such a short time. Maybe it would be fun to see how things went with the two. "So... I'm curious. Did something happen before you and the princess left the festival?" The maid brought her voice up as she spoke, a slight smirk on her face even as she broke another branch off the tree next to her. She tried to keep her voice loud enough to be heard over the rain splattering around them and the branch breaking, but without necessarily shouting. An axe would be have been useful, but she hadn't thought to actually pack one for their trip. "I'm assuming you two had a good time, but... I don't have a lot of details on that. Care to share some?" There was already a bit of amusement in her tone, but she tried to keep it (relatively) controlled for now. Drawing it out of Fayt rather than interrogating him would make things more interesting, after all. ★ fayt ★ is it time for water training

Xara had been the last person that he had met from the group that had traveled from Heim. Fayt had also decided that she was, far and away, the strangest of that group as well. She was a maid, but she certainly didn't act like one. Sometimes she had a very soft and almost demure air around her, and other times... ...well, other times she dragged him out in the rain to break branches off of trees and interrogate him. Keeping his hood pulled up over his head to ensure he didn't end up getting sick or something, Fayt followed Xara's example of breaking the wood from a different tree and tossing each branch into a slowly growing pile. The wood would have to be dried and treated before it would burn, but it wasn't bad wood. "Family fight," he said with a quiet sigh as he dusted bits of wet bark from his palms, turning to look at Xara again. "Long story short, my sister and my adoptive brother started dating and didn't tell me anything about it, and my sister had the audacity to call me controlling when I was upset about this. I mean, it was nothing... major, just awkward and rather unpleasant."
He sighed and adjusted his hood before shrugging a little. "She asked me if I wanted to come to... you know, get away for a bit, so I agreed. I mean, they can handle the inn alone and I probably needed a vacation anyway."★ xara raihan ★ punch barrels

That wasn't good to hear. Although Xara didn't see many instances of dating-related issues in her immediate family, it certainly wasn't an uncommon thing to hear about coming from other families. "I'm sorry to hear that. It.. . Should be fine by the time you return, at least. The time off should help." She flashed Fayt a sympathetic smile before turning back to the next tree she was working on and snapping off another branch. "Can't say I wouldn't be worried if the princess ever started dating someone." Xara held back a snicker as she went quiet to let that sink in and glanced around to find another appropriate tree. Would this be too much wood to bring back? Well, it wouldn't hurt to have extra just in case they were stuck here longer than expected. "Still, I'm sure things'll work themselves out. If they truly want to go through with it, then... We can see how things go from there." The maid wasn't sure what kind of reaction she could get out of Fayt, but she was hoping there would be something. "Speaking of... Where did you two go, anyway? Was that all you spoke about?" If his reaction was good enough, then just maybe she'd have another person to mess with during this trip. ★ fayt ★ finger the barrel holes

Dating? The princess could do that? Fayt looked over at Xara with a raised eyebrow, unsure at what she was getting at, specifically. If it was a reference to the relationship that he could see forming between Lycoris and Adell, then he didn't really understand what Xara would have to be trepidatious about. He was a good man. Besides, he was nobility and all that, so he could marry a princess, right? Dropping that train of thought before it got any weirder, Fayt cleared his throat. "We went to a lake and we just... talked for a bit," he said as he broke some more branches off. "She asked what had happened and I told her, and she comforted me for a while and asked if I wanted to come with either the two of you or go with Adell to... you know, get away for a while. I didn't really feel like facing Holly and Wynter at the moment, so I accepted."
He hesitated for a moment before looking over at Xara wit ha raised eyebrow. "To be honest, I'm surprised you aren't mad at me. I mean, it really was... I crossed boundaries, asking her to the festival with me, didn't I? Especially since it ended up going so badly."★ xara raihan ★ you stop violating those barrels right now

No flustered reaction? Not even a raised voice? Xara was really losing her touch. Maybe all that time spent with just the princess and the noble was making it harder to get into anyone else's head. That would have to be rectified sooner rather than later if she wanted to have any fun with this guy. Not too much fun, of course, but enough to keep things interesting. "That's a relief, then. If it turned out that you and her did anything more than that, then... Well." Putting on a more trained smile, the maid turned to Fayt and held a branch up for a moment before pretending to wedge the branch into something from below and twisting it several times. "Then again..." She set the branch aside in the pile and approached the blond, leaning in to peer at his face with a mischievous grin on her face. "You're not too bad looking. If this was some sort of romance novel, that sort of thing wouldn't be too unexpected. And the three of us are out here without anyone else around..."That might be enough. Stepping away once more, Xara settled back into the relaxed smile and turned to take another look at their accumulated branches. The pile was getting fairly big now, so there was a good possibility they'd have enough wood to last the night. Still, a little more wouldn't hurt, and there was something therapeutic about just snapping branches off. "Why would I be mad? Lord Windsor asked Miss Desiree to go with him, and the princess went with you. Those two needed to break out of their shells, anyway. Can't get any experience in new things if they never try."★ fayt devanti ★ but it's the butt
