Honey colored eyes watched as waves gently lapped up against the shore, only to be dragged back into the vast expanse of blue, leaving trails of white foam that faded nearly as quickly as it came. Sighing, Donovan leaned against a grassy bank as he shucked off his coat, laying it down beside him. The male bit his lip as he reached into his pocket, pulling out a small syringe. Donovan shook it up a bit, holding it up to the light. The clear liquid shimmered just slightly from the small amount of sun that shined around him. Although he was out in public, he was alone, thankfully. The beastman slapped the crook of his arm a couple of times to get the blood flowing before slipping the needle through his skin. Donovan hissed through gritted teeth as he slowly pushed the stopper a bit at a time. Once the drug had finally entered his system, he sighed a bit, pulling the needle out. After the blood had been wiped away, a topper was placed over the needle before being tucked back into his coat pocket. Donovan sat leaning against the bank for a few minutes as the drug began to swirl through his bloodstream. A small smile peeked from the corner of his lips as an easy, relaxed feeling washed over him. A few colors melded and mixed into each other, the water looked more lucid now than it did before, and the sky almost looked like someone had painted it. Yes, this was comfortable, and a perfect way to feel. Clearing his throat, Donovan reached over and pulled the small brown bag he had with him into his lap. A small growl escaped his stomach as he pulled out a sandwich. ★ Ri ★ Drugs are good, right? Right.

The water was a terrible place, but the water also had fishies. So it was wet and dangerous but filled with deliciousness. Oh, the trials she had to face! Ri had come down to the beach to do some awesome fish stalking, because she had heard that there were fish there, but so far she hadn't been able to actually see any close enough to the beach that would permit her to catch them without getting too into the water. Sure, she could swim, but the fact remained that she really, really didn't like to. She was debating this problem when a scent caught her nostrils. Raising her head, she sniffed the air a few times before looking over in the direction of... what seemed to be some guy who smelled kind of funny and also kind of good. Getting down on all fours, she crawled over, twitching her fox tail beneath the hem of her tunic and stopping about ten feet away from the young man. "Rrrrri~" she half growled, half purred, the sound trailing off in a high squeak-like sound as her ears twitched. She could hunt a sandwich. ★ donovan durden ★ drugs are terrible but sandwiches are great

Slowly, Donovan began unwrapping his sandwich with a slight bit of difficulty. As the drug began to work its way through his system, the affects were beginning to take effect. A slight tingling feeling began working its way through his fingers and up his hands, making way towards his legs and feet. Clearing his throat, the beastman licked his lips and shifted down a bit more against the bank, resting his head back again as the light headed feeling began to make an appearance. He breathed deeply through his nose and closed his eyes for a moment or two. Donovan's brows knitted together as the sound of what seemed like a purr and a growl reached his ears. Peeking an eye open, he turned his attention to where he thought the sound had come from. A slender brow quirked as his gaze fell upon what looked like a little girl. A beastman from the looks of it - a fox, just like him. Golden brown eyes trailed over the small figure with twitching ears and a wagging tail. Judging by the position she had herself in, if he were to guess, it appeared as though she was in the process of trying to hunt something. But what exactly was she trying to hunt? Glancing down, the redhead realized that it was his sandwich she was aiming for. "What do you want?" he said, voice cracking a bit from feeling dry. Truth be told, he had a couple of sandwiches and snacks he brought with him in his coat pocket, but why would he want to share his food with a stranger? Sure she was a fellow beastman, but did that really mean anything? ★ You stalk that sandwich, Ri.

Donovan's words went completely ignored as Ri shuffled closer to him, her eyes still focused on his sandwich. It hadn't moved, which meant that it had absolutely no idea that she was there. She was so stealthy! And it smelled very good, yes it did. Twitching her tail a couple of more times, she let out the same growling sound before she lowered herself to the ground completely. She was the absolute picture of a stalker, ready to pounce on her prey at a moment's notice. Which she did. Leaping through the air, she aimed to land right on the sandwich, as long as it didn't move. Of course, this would also land her squarely in Donovan's lap, but that was a minor detail that could be otherwise ignored with ease. ★ donovan durden ★ it is delicious prey. sandwich migration patterns are complex.

"Hey, I'm talkin' to you," he said, snapping the fingers of his sandwichless hand. It appeared as though his words were just flying right on by, not making any difference. Donovan sighed a bit as she lowered herself down. She was really trying to be stealthy? He could still see her. She was clearly very focused on his sandwich, and it seemed as though she was trying to hunt it like it was live prey. Was she stupid? Golden eyes roved over the small figure, noticing quickly noticing the ratty tunic she was wearing. She looked so small and young, was she all alone? Watching this young beastman try to go for her prey was almost like watching a kitten trying to jump on a mouse. She had her shaking behind in the air, even. A quiet sigh escaped the male as she leaped forward in an attempt to grab his sandwich. Donovan moved his hand upwards, bringing the morsel out of her reach. He coughed a bit as she quite heavily landed in his lap. "Can I help you?" ★ You have to be very careful. They might attack.

Well, that had gone completely incorrectly. Muttering under her breath, Ri rolled over onto her back (still on Donovan's lap) and stared up at the sandwiches that had been crafty enough to dodge her attack. She let out a soft whine of annoyance as she reached her arms up to try and seize them, though her hands quickly fell back down again. With a heavy sigh, she decided to acknowledge the man she was laying on and turned her eyes up to him as well. She blinked slowly at him before reaching up to poke him on the nose. "Rrrrrri," she said, lowering her hand again once she did so. She then nodded a little before opening her mouth. "Ahn~?"★ donovan durden ★ don't be fooled! sandwiches are at their most dangerous when wounded.
