A physical retaliation was not the reaction he had received. Better yet, Rhiannon was taken aback and so abruptly pulled in to dance that she had actually stiffened like a young fawn. Crimson eyes widened as she felt hands around her waist. Her first instinct was to wiggle away, writhe around the strange sensation that she felt. He had gone too far, this abrasive, cocky man. With a quick turn before she was pressed against his body, she had slipped away from his grasp. Never in her life had she been fondled like that before! No one dared lay a finger on the Princesses back in Avalon. Yet here was someone groping her without her permission! Though it was not anger she felt. Rhiannon's heart began to race, and she searched the crowd for her sister. This man had sent her into a panic. She did not like the feeling he was giving her. After a deep breath, she looked up to him for the first time through the entire ordeal. He was tall, and had good features. Maybe anyone else would have been flattered to be chosen by him. Rhiannon was just a bit confused. Clearing her throat, she tried her best not to falter. "Pardon me, but I would like to at least know the name of the gentleman who so hastily swept me in their arms." She smoothed down her shirt for a moment. "Such abrasiveness is considered rude in my home land."★ Elwyn Summers★ if anyone can help her realize her sexuality, it's elwyn |DDD

“Yes, I am enjoying the festival so far. Are you? The scenery is quite lovely,” The girl responded, giving him a light smile in response to Ringo's presence at these swings. Ringo started to swing lightly back and forth as she stared back at the crowds. Ringo himself doing the exact same. He chuckled to himself as he slowly came to a stop not long after swinging. "I can't say I'm not enjoying it but...I feel out of place here." Ringo said, scratching the back of his head. "I'm...a wanderer. I just happened to be passing by when I heard about this festival and thought that I would attend." Ringo looked over at the rose. "Though I lack any formal wear and I am just a stranger to this area so I can't exactly partake in every little part of this festival to the goddess. In all honestly if I were to walk around I'd stick out a little." He chuckled to himself and then looked over at the lady. "Are you here with friends?" Ringo might as well start with another question. He didn't really need to answer this question for himself seeing as how he stated he was a wanderer. "...or are you just here to enjoy the swings?" Ringo lightly tugged at the rope and started to lightly swing again. "I never really had swings where I came from so I admit these are quiet enjoyable."

tagged: party people While it was true that Charlie would've stumbled onto the suspiciously placed marble, she had already taken a seat. With her attention directed elsewhere, the beastwoman had neglected to notice the offending sphere, though she still felt as if a pair of eyes had been directed in her general direction. Curious, her head spun around to scan the crowd for the culprit, however the optical scour proved futile.
Thinking nothing of it, her gaze returned to man who had invited her. Oh right, probably should've said hello. Grinning apologetically, Charlie bobbed her head in greeting. "Likewise." Knowing that social etiquette was certainly not her forte, the woman hadn't put much effort into acting like she was dressed.
"One can only hope." She added. Raised in a technologically advanced society that had no place for religion, Charlie didn't care much for deities. That wasn't to say that she wasn't interested in the stories about divinity, but they remained just that – stories. Despite her earlier remark, the female didn't scoff at the beliefs of others: they were merely an item of curiosity. And based on his reply, it would seem as if Alfonse was part of those who supported the beliefs.
Gripping onto the man's palm, Charlie smiled upon receiving the compliment and shrugged in regards to his comment about the effect of her eye patch. It seemed inappropriate to wear it for the event – or as she perceived it. It was already painstakingly obvious that the woman severely lacked experience in attending formal events. If she had not been invited, it wouldn't have been surprising for the woman to miss the festival.
"You could say that again. Anymore and I'd say that people came for the bargain prices instead of the festival itself." As she spoke, her gaze followed in the direction of Alfonse's and she caught sight of a group of people who seemed to be in the midst of an argument. A frown lanced through the beastwoman's face. Tension already? Nonetheless, her attention travelled beyond them and towards a store housing shallow tanks full of shimmering goldfish, where a small number had already gathered.
"Fish scooping seems fun!" With that exclamation, Charlie would drag Alfonse away by their entwined fingers. 371 words | rocking with flowers and fish! made by CAPTAIN of GANGNAM STYLE; edited

Aww, the pretty girl moved away from him. What a shame. In her moment of spinning away, he did take the time to notice that the man he invited was here now, so it would be a good idea to at least invite him over and chill. Of course it would! Tempest had to be a hoot at parties. ...aha. Haha. Yeah. "Rude? My dear lady, it is considered rude almost everywhere, but it has yet to stop me from going after what I want at the moment." A happy laugh escaped the man. He did, at least, clap himself on the chest and puff up. "My name is Elwyn Summers, rescuer of damsels who find themselves board with the typical ho hum of events such as this. See that guy over there? That's Temtem! Hey, hey Temtem! Come join us!'Raising one hand, he waved widely at the faerie by the food table, and directed a wide grin at Rhiannon. "Only I can call him Temtem, though, so you'll have to stick with Tempest. Soooo! You should dance with me. I almost got to sweep you away already and it was fun."★ festival ★ elwyn is great at turning girls into lesbians. it is his secret superpower

And then there appeared to be some sort of argument. Great. Xara couldn't really tell what was being said to who, but if it was enough for the princess to start walking away, it couldn't be a good thing. Maybe some food would cheer her up. Or not. Either way, it would be a waste to throw it all away. She went straight for Lycoris and bowed her head lightly at spotting Adell, although her focus was on the former what with the running and all. "Deep breaths, milady." Xara offered the sticks of food to the princess and the noble, glancing towards the four she had retreated from before turning back to her. "Eat something, calm down, and tell me who's eye to put these in." Even though the maid spoke with an unnatural calmness, her knuckles were already starting to discolor from her grip on the food sticks. ★ GO FESTIVALIS open ★ best bonding time wasn't incest historically pretty common in noble circles anyway

It seemed her one question had opened him up somewhat. Cassandra held back a giggle as he began to answer in detail about how he had come to be here. She listened with a polite smile and sympathized with how he felt somewhat out of place. Meridell was like her home, but sometimes she still felt like a relative stranger. Illusia was different than her home country and there was no getting around it. “Well, wanderings can lead you to the best of places. I am sure if you were to at least walk around and peruse the stalls, then you would feel more at ease. You do not have to mingle if it is too much, but enjoying the atmosphere and good food can go a long way to ease your anxiety.” Hopefully her words would help to comfort him. “I came here with my sister, who seems to be dealing with someone rather uncouth,” Cassandra murmured with narrowed eyes. Her gaze had finally fallen upon Rhiannon as she dealt with a man who appeared to be rather handsy. She knew her sister, and she disliked anyone getting into her personal space like that. Her fingers tightened on the flower rope of the swings for a moment before she pushed herself from her perch. “If you would excuse me for a moment. My sister seems to be in need of help,” she said with a slight smile. With that stated, Cassandra quickly headed straight for her twin and the idiot who was not getting the message to leave her alone. Rhiannon seemed to have placed some distance between herself and the black haired male, but Cassandra would rather pull her away before he attempted any other ideas. Her arm linked through her twin’s the moment she stepped beside her. Blue eyes regarded the man coolly before she sent a smile at her twin. “Why do you not come join me by the swings? The view from there is really nice and I already met someone I think you would not mind speaking with.”★ Ringo/Rhia/Elwynn/Open. ★ Because I would be a bad sister not to intervene? -shot-

Holly didn't know what she wanted to be more frustrated about: Fayt's deliberate finger pointing and thinking he needed to know every tidbit about her life, Wynter's immediate apology to her brother for doing nothing wrong, Briar's butting into the conversation that she knew wouldn't help anything, or the princess's obvious incest comment and fleeing from the argument. Keeping calm became harder and harder as each person spoke. She should have felt bad for making Fayt feel the way he did or have some guilt about Lycoris running away. Her frustration, however, didn't give her many positive thoughts. Fayt wasn't the master of her life and she didn't need his word to go out with whoever she wanted to. If this would have come up while they weren't at the festival, she might have thought it was cute that he was being protective of her with Wynter. As it were, she forced herself to bite the inside of her cheek and ball her hands into fists to keep from saying every nasty word on her mind. And Lycoris? If she didn't think there would be a retort waiting for the comment she had made, then there really was something wrong with royals of Heim. If she wasn't prepared the for what she had to say after her little statement, then she she shouldn't have made it in the first place. It was when Adell showed up that she finally snapped. She completely ignored the guard. "You're not the master of my life, so I don't get why you're getting so worked up over it. You know Wynter and you know that he wouldn't hurt me, so you obviously know he's better than anyone else I could have gone with. You don't see me interrogating you about Lycoris, I was just defending myself against her comment-- thanks for the help with that, by the way," her voice practically oozed with venom sarcasm. Hot tears stung her eyes from where she tried to hold them back. "I just... Never mind. Because whatever I say is going to set you off again anyway! Thanks, Fayt." With that, she spun on her heel and walked away at a normal pace. She tried to look as composed as possible, because she was determined to not blow up like her brother and not run away with her tail between her legs like Lycoris. ★ grrr rawr, i hate you all

...oh, what the hell. And now he was trying to be the "master of her life" by wanting to know what was going on?! "Fine, walk off, Holly. It's what you've always been best at in arguments, anyway," he said before looking at Adell, then raising his hands to either side of his nose and closing his eyes. "...family argument that got out of hand. My adoptive brother and my sister have, apparently, been going behind my back for I don't even know how long, and the princess got caught in the crossfire. Not my intention." He didn't plan to stand here for much longer, either, since he knew that Lycoris had gone off and he at least needed to apologize to her for what had happened. Turning on his heel, he walked away, his pace fast enough and his legs long enough to make it difficult for most people to catch up to him without running. His intention was to locate Lycoris before she ran away and ended up leaving Asgard. Of course, with Adell here, that was at least assurance that she wouldn't pack up and just go back to Heim, but Meridell was a long walk and he wouldn't be able to go after her that far just for an apology. ★ festival ★ (taco's right it was actually terribly common)

And Elwyn had noticed him. Glancing over, Tempest let out a sigh before doing a double-take when he noticed the young woman that he had grabbed and pulled to his chest. With her back to him, he had not recognized her, but now that he could see her face... The fact that the princesses had been sent to the town under his charge had, of course, been a message passed to him. His duties had been expanded to include provisions for their comfort and safety. He, personally, had lived with Elwyn long enough to know that he was a provision for neither comfort nor safety. Hurriedly coming over, he took off his hat long enough to bow to Rhiannon. "Forgive him," he said quickly. "Propriety is not, and has never been, Elwyn's strong suit."
Placing the hat back on his head, he looked at his temporary roommate with a heavy frown. "What in the world do you think you are doing?"★ festival ★ are you some kind of psycho or something

The pretty blonde girl that the boy he had been trying to spoke to before moving on to this blonde girl moved over towards them, addressing the other girl (this is why he needed names). Getting frowned upon by Tempest didn't help matters any either. The dark-haired man blinked a few times, his grin slipping. "What am I doing? I was trying to get her to dance and have some fun. She looked like a fish out of water. That's not good for anyone at a place like this."Elwyn took a moment to glance between the two females again, then back at Tempest, before shrugging his shoulders. "Pigging out on food before dancing never does anyone any favors. That's how vomiting happens."Seeing as how his current dance partner (or victim) was about to get swept away, he scanned the crowd and spotted a redhead by a brunette. Elwyn raised one hand and whistled. "Yo, Red! Come dance with me!"Adell's appearance was not something that went ignored, nor was Xara's... mostly because Xara's position caused her to stop running completely. No, no, she didn't want that. She wanted to run because she could - was that such a difficult thing to understand? ...most likely. Something to make note on in the future. When Lycoris lifted her head, her features didn't show any signs of hurt or embarrassment, or indignation. In fact, a rather amused smile lingered on her lips, reaching her eyes and causing them to shimmer in the warm light. "You do not need to poke any eyes out. I am perfectly fine, Xara, but I do appreciate knowing that you would be willing to blind someone if they insulted me." The beastwoman's comment, while stinging, mattered little. After all, why should she care about the opinion of some mangy mutt, or some spoiled, incesteous inn children, for that matter? A whistle followed by someone calling out to 'Red' and looking in this way nearly made Lycoris start laughing, which she was desperately trying not to. She reached out, clapping Xara's shoulder lightly. "Have fun."Fayt was easy to spot in the crowd as he came coming closer. There was only a moment of hesitation before she turned to face him fully, extending her hand palm up. "Run."★ festival ★ at that, kids, is how holly broke all the things c:

This wasn't how anything was supposed to work. Really, he should have gone after Holly, tried to make her understand exactly why he was mad. But she clearly didn't care. And it wasn't as though he could make her care, either. Did he even really want to try? At least Lycoris was easy enough to catch up to, and Xara didn't seem ready to rip anyone's face off... yet. Before he could even say anything, Lycoris had held her hand out to him and had said one very simple, easy to understand word. Run. There should have been hesitation. He had an angry family here that he may have hurt with his words, and he should have been going back and apologizing. He should have been siding with them, not going after someone that was considered to be an enemy of the state by so many of his countrymen. But there wasn't any hesitation. There was no question asked, and not even a verbal response given. Taking her hand almost immediately after it was offered, Fayt held it, starting to run with her. Disappearing the way most people had come would be easy enough, and frankly, he knew this area far better than either Xara or Adell if they decided to come looking for them. Getting away wouldn't be a problem in the slightest. After that, he could figure out what it was he was doing. ★ festival ★ fleeeeeeee

Keeping up with Fayt was a challenge she managed to succeed in for the most part. It helped that this wasn't a situation where they were running for their lives or something, since if it was, she was fairly certain he would have to leave her to her own devices due to the difference in their natural strides. As soon as they were a distance away from prying eyes, she reached out with her free hand to press it against his waist. "Don't close your eyes!"Don't. Another slip. Later on she could scold herself for another contraction slip. For now, jumping was a more important thing to worry about. As she did so, air wrapped around the both of them and lifted them up. His weight was not enough to hinder the spell in the slightest. Another jump was done midair, something she had gotten very good at in her younger years, and a third. The view was absolutely beautiful - the garden underneath them a fair distance, the trees surrounding it looking even smaller, the open sky above them, and the fields of Ilusia rolling in all directions. After taking a fourth jump just for speed, the two of them began to float down slowly. The same stream and tree she had spent time with Adell at just days ago caught her attention, so with only a bit of additional energy, she directed their floating towards that spot. Hm, she hadn't thought that garden was so close to it. Something else to commit to memory. Solid ground underneath them allowed for her to move her hand away from her waist. Surprisingly, her grip on his hand did not relax. "Are you alright?" Lycoris tipped her head to the side, her smile lingering. "You sounded rather upset back there."★ festival ★ flying is a great stress relief until you fall

"Oh, that was an understatement." Briar watched as Fayt ran off after the princess, her lips turning upwards. Amusement flickered in her eyes, hardly upset or wounded by the blonde's words. After all, he was right, and only he had the nerve to actually say it to her face. "An interesting way to start a festival..."There was no need to worry about Holly. If Wynter rushing off in the direction she had walked was any indication, there was no need to. She was sure the boy would do his part well in sorting everything out. Instead, Briar directed her gaze back to the brunette who had come in at the end of the heat of the moment. To see Adell there proved to be a good distraction, and a step forward was taken to place herself at his side. She tilted her head curiously, fingers reaching up to twirl idly around a strand of her hair. "So, you did come after all. I was wondering if I would be seeing you." Her eyes lowered to take in the sight of the silver ring adorning his finger. A very familiar ring at that, her own handiwork. "I see you're wearing the ring I made.""Holly, wait!" Breaking through the crowd, Wynter reached out to grab Holly's wrist, hoping to slow her down as he caught up to her. His breath came out in heaves as he wiped his forehead, frowning as he held into pale wrist. "Just... just give him time. I should have talked to him much sooner, it's my fault." Loosening his grip, he tried to get her to look him in the eyes, pulling softly to try and turn her around to face him. "Don't be mad at Fayt. Are you okay?" ★ festival ★ ahaha never going to forget this thread

Holly's mind was still whirling when she heard her name called and continued to walk. She could practically feel her magic wanting to make something boil or to conjure up a dense fog so no one could find her. Suddenly, the festival seemed claustrophobic and it felt like the air was heavier than before, gravity pushing down harshly on her shoulders. It was physically draining to force herself not to look upset when that was the only emotion running through her body. "Not be mad at Fayt? Well maybe if he hadn't made such a big deal in the first place, I wouldn't be. But I guess I should just keep walking and stop arguing with you, since I'm the best at that," she hissed, flinching at the contact of his hand around her wrist. What if more people saw? What if more people thought the same thing as Lycoris? "He didn't even defend us. He doesn't care. He obviously showed that when he couldn't even calm down. Look back right now and tell me he isn't missing. No, he probably went after his stupid girlfriend." People were watching them, lingering eyes. They were people they knew, people that saw them on a regular basis, maybe they stayed at the inn at one point. Maybe they knew their parents. She cringed at that. Their parents. Maybe not by blood for all three of them, but she still called them her parents. In the moment that Wynter tried turning her towards him, she ripped her arm away and took a step back. The tears that she had been so desperately trying to hold back broke free just for a second to allow two trails to roll down her cheek as every insecurity she ever had about telling Wynter how she felt about him assaulted her once again. All because of that stupid, stupid princess. "Th...That's how people are going to see us. Th-They're going to look at us, know we're... siblings... and think that."★ and this, kids, is why you don't listen to the creepy heim princess D<

With everything that happened, and with Briar's appearance proving to be a distraction, Adell lost sight of Lycoris. He wanted to make sure that she was alright, but now that she had taken off, there was really no way to track her down. He was her bodyguard, so he should be chasing her, regardless. So why had his feet refused to move? He had done virtually nothing except watch, and now opportunity had slipped through his fingers. Despite all that, he found himself turning to regard Briar. "Er, yes." Adell regarded the ring on his finger, briefly. It was of a good make, he had to admit, and making a good impression on Briar would be necessary if he was to attempt to gain unfettered access to Volos. He was within his rights to demand it, but that would do nothing to aid their pursuit of hearsay and rumour. That wasn't his whole motivation, if he was going to be honest with himself, but it would help assuage his guilt. Adell blinked, and tried to remember the etiquette he had been taught. He had mixed results. "W-Well... good evening, Briar." Oh, how different a life Adell would have led if he was some charismatic type. As it was, it was hard enough to keep from shuffling his feet. An unsure smile was offered, Adell clearly off-balanced. Whatever plans he had formulated were stymied by the situation he had blundered into. He was aware that a polite compliment would likely be a wise thing to give, but everything sounded wrong in his head. Adell made a conscious effort not to crush the flower in his left hand, though it would be impossible to avoid questions on it now. "So, ah... did you come here alone, as well?" It seemed unlikely, but it didn't hurt to ask. After all, the innkeeper's sons were apparently otherwise occupied, and he didn't see any other men around Briar. Perhaps there was still a sliver of opportunity. For the sake of investigating Volos, of course. ★ Festival. ★ Fayt should crush Wynter with brotherly justice.
